    lexus factory 4WD installs

I own a 93 Toyota Landcruiser AWD but the stock tranny has only been tested to hold up to 400hp and that was tested using a diesel.. Better check the load capacity on these newer AWD trannies as well, that is if you plan on going all out on the engine....

    What make lextreme.com so successful?

I think that this forum is extreme compared to all the others. (hence the name Lextreme). The marketing on Google and the other larger search engines is important and key to it's success. The name is catchy too. The term Extreme I used meening that this is a very intellegent forum and the main...

How to convert hydraulic clutch fan with electric fans.

Got the pulley idler installed and the car is now running as strong as ever... I am now working on a cover plate and dress up for the pump now. Note: I did need to grind down a little corner edge of the pump for belt clearance. The belt did just nick the pump edge so a quick 1/4" grind and I was...

Making the car faster with out hp gains?

Lowboost - whore away, that is why the forums are here, and that is to post and learn something, get bashed every once in a while, and maybe get a laugh every now and then...It's all good. :fing02: Yes, based on what you are telling me you should make 300bhp on your motor if it is in good shape...

Making the car faster with out hp gains?

lowboost- The 95 sc400's are rated at 260hp at stock, I believe, so after years of use your probably are looking at around 230hp or so. The other mods you mention (a good intake, and full exhaust, will bring you to like 270-290hp would be my guess. Open up the ECU you may even push 300hp. Oh...

Making the car faster with out hp gains?

What I don't get is how is an alluminum driveshaft as strong or stronger then the stock steel driveshaft? I know that steel is stronger then alluminum so how can this be?????? It's almost like saying build a house out pine or balsa wood and the stronger would be Balsa????? Anaema - If you...

Making the car faster with out hp gains?

Peewee - Oh your right, but my rims are made of alloy and noticeably lighter (and wider) then the stock steel lexus rims I had on before. I also recently reduced the height of my rear tires a couple of sizes from 55's to 35's, and noticed the car got lower to the ground and power gains were made...

Making the car faster with out hp gains?

Hey, you may laugh but a smaller or shorter (not thinner) tires and light weight rims at the rears can make for more immediate power and speed, reason being the drivetrain and engine don't have to turn as much weight. Gains are made. Example, 235/55 tires reduced (diameter not width)down from...

Making the car faster with out hp gains?

I am also wondering if there is a chart or write up info. on weight loss = speed gained? For example, if you droped 500lbs off a 3000lbs car with 300hp what is gained in the way of speed 0-60 or in the quarter mile? Thanks for the info Low...

Making the car faster with out hp gains?

Lowboost, I was referring to the rear seats being real light in weight and made of foam and assumed the fronts were light as well. Really don't want to lose that lexus appeal but wow I had no idea they weighed that much.. The front seats weigh 85 and 120 pounds, that's over 200lbs combined, wow...

240stu- You say I think it is counter productive when the posters main priority is to prove right/wrong. Again I must disagree...it all depends on manner in which you prove your case....Example Thread - My stock 1992 SC400 has 250 hp and I only need to gain 50 more hp to get the car running at...

Making the car faster with out hp gains?

That is very extreme. The seats are very light and made of foam to begin with, good suggestions thanks. My goals is to keep the car in tact... Driveshaft needs to be changed anyway, may go for lighter and stronger drive shaft...Thanks Anaema....

Making the car faster with out hp gains?

Ok, I have been thinking of ways to make my car faster 0-60mph without hp gains and reducing the weight on my sc400/Soarer was one of the ways, I am hoping to drop 300lbs but so far I could only come up with these: 1) removing the spare tire and rim, jack, and tools from the trunk and replaced...

240stu - I disagree with your forth paragraph (bottom line- it's offensive......) I think if you truely believe you are correct and someone is posting something that is not true or false and you know it, it is your duty to express your point of view however you so please. I also think you should...
