    Power steeting noise PROBLEM SOLVED

The PS pump can be resealed with a kit from Toyota for about $30. I did it to mine and have been highly satisfied with it.

    M112 worth buying?

Are you sure you'd want to go through the trouble of putting this monstrous blower in a car meant as a daily driver?

    Wanted Serpentine belt tensioner

Has anybody got a serpentine belt tensioner for the 90-97 1UZ-FE that they'd be willing to let go of cheap? I don't need the pulley, just the tensioner itself. I'm hoping to pay somewhere around $25 shipped. If this will work for you, drop me a line sometime very soon - otherwise I'll just order...

I see a huge problem with that motor. It's not in my car :D

Major purchase decision.. SC400 or SC300?

Are you going to be done with school for good in May? As far as my car goes, as soon as all the pipes are in, I'm going to install them and then go for the test drive. I'm guessing it'll be Friday. :D I can't wait.

in my car it's behind the glovebox on the passenger side, you have to remove the glovebox to get access to it.

Project Thread Vortech on a tired 1UZ-FE

My blower was $775 from eBay. All the supporting bits are nickels and dimes, but they added the total up to $1285 very quickly :) However... this is well under half of what most every other FI project I've seen comes out to. I'm not going to pat myself on the back until I have it making boost...

Well, the FPR is hooked up, the world's worst boost gauge is hooked up, the PCV is resolved, the drive belt looks like it's routed nicely... everything is ready for boost. I just need those hoses to come in. :D

JBrady is right on. An unopened 90-94 motor can be found for less than $300. $100 worth of new gaskets and I'd say it's a great road test platform!

Great post as always Mr. Cribb. Informative and entertaining. My condolences for your sealing issues, I hope that they make you whole on the motor. Ring sealing problems are one reason why I shy away from rebuilding my motor in the first place - Toyota builds these motors a certain way with...

Project Thread Vortech on a tired 1UZ-FE

Hey KC, I'm planning on running the charge pipe under the rad hose. There's plenty of room, if I find the downward clocking of the blower to be unacceptable I can easily lift up the radiator by an inch without fouling anything. It wouldn't be pretty though. I'll wait and see how well the...

    Solara Sleeper

I'd really hate to be the one to tell you that you can't do it, but it's sooooooooooooooo much easier to build that 1MZ-FE.

Well, here are the bits I ordered: 24" length, 2.75 silicone hose 3" blue 45 degree silicone elbow 90 degree 2.75" aluminum pipe I'd like to plug the 3" elbow into the black intake chamber, hook the MAF to the end of that, hook up the 2.75" aluminum pipe to that, and then use the length of...

Yeah, the home depot idea is right out. I'll have to delay completion while I wait on pipes to be delivered from the internet. It doesn't make sense to do a half-ass job right now.
