DIYEFI.org, FreeEMS and the future of TRUE DIY engine management

Introducing FreeTherm a new little utility that does a similar thing to easytherm : C# + mono = "up yours" to M$. (microsoft) Result : Real temperatures in the ECU :-) Too easy. (in degrees K * 100, so divide by 100 and subtract 273 for deg C, you are on your own for deg F) Fred.

    High Output Fuel System

PWM on the pump is an excellent idea indeed. Not only does it use less power and put out less heat, it allows the regulator to work in a narrower range of flow and therefore be more accurate too! Accurate stable fuel pressure = better tune and potentially more power and better...

    High Output Fuel System

I am usually a fan of overkill, but for 600hp, a single 044 should be adequate with some headroom at the low fuel pressures a boosted 1uzfe will see to make that power. Consider for a second your 2 x 2.0 4 pot @ 300hp scenario. would you really put a 700hp pump on a 300hp engine? I wouldn't. I'd...

DIYEFI.org, FreeEMS and the future of TRUE DIY engine management

There was a bug in the handling of char to ascii so now lostcranksync can be displayed it works :-) Also visible is rpm increasing and decreasing and pulsewidth decreasing and increasing and 1/3 down a processor reset (induced by me). All things that have been happening for ages, it's just that...

Minor update : Human readable serial logging is working as of this morning. I'll tidy it up and add a bunch more variables before doing a release later today. I also changed the formatting of the forum a bit. The moderators are now Blue, the members that have contributed the most useful...

Please, if you are signed to my site, or intending to, and also need assistance on msefi.com read this : http://www.diyefi.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=26 It is highly...

http://www.diyefi.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=150&p=1109#p1109 Not enough, no! :-) I just got some LEDs to light using the pit timers in an ordered in time way, but then they stopped :-) Lot's of work to do, no time to do it, you know how it is! Feel free to spread the word elsewhere if you...

DIYEFI.org, FreeEMS and the future of TRUE DIY engine management

Ken had this to say on some other boards, so I thought I would put it here. If an admin wants to delete that duplicate post above this, that would be good. I'm not sure how that happened. If you are reading this, Thanks Ken, your work is most appreciated, as is James'. Fred.

Just for dev, although windows is fine too, I can't/wont support it because I don't have a win machine, and don't enjoy their business practices. Also, I just wanted to point out that James and Ken are NOT working on my project with me. The original contributors page may have been a little...

Cool :-) MS is a good system, I just don't see any future developments occurring for the hard core DIYer. Hence this :-) Are you planning NipponDenso mode? or 12-1 mode like em_knaps or a custom 36-1 setup or what? If you haven't decided yet, my recommendation is 36-1 with a single cam pulse...

DIYEFI.org, FreeEMS and the future of TRUE DIY engine management

I got a little carried away and forgot to mention this : The only thing it is possible for me to do is stop development. The code is out there and under GPL, at that point it is not my decision anymore :-) The only other thing I could do, and only up until someone else contributes, is sell...

LOL, Awesome :-) It's amazing who comes out of the woodwork when you ask about Linux :-) Windows is ok for dev too, but I can't/wont support it because I have no windows machine and don't approve of their business practice and monopoly in the market place. Definitely. I have to say though...

DIYEFI.org, FreeEMS and the future of TRUE DIY engine management

Hi, This thread is here to introduce and discuss DIYEFI.org, a new community with a difference. For those of you who don't know who I am, I've been keeping a close eye on DIY EFI stuff since the late 90's and been involved with MegaSquirt for the last 3 years or so to some degree or other...

Standalone ECU 1UZFE 36-1 Trigger Wheel and Megasquirt

fixed it for ya ;-) MS2Extra uses every tooth and all the information and updates its internal data as often as possible with 36 and 60 tooth wheels etc. Its no worse off than any other, and often much better ;-) This is not the case with ms1 or ms2 base though, or at least it wasn't until...

"Coil on plug" coils for 1UZFE

surely there is software averaging to take that out of the picture? thats the primary reason why crank based control is preferred though. i have a 36-1 on my crank and i am using the single optical in my cas as a sync so that i can run COP on the engine. more teeth also = better transient...

"Coil on plug" coils for 1UZFE

why not exactly? unless the cpu couldnt keep up with the interupts generated from the 1 degree signal or didnt use that and guessed based on length of the other slots, it should be fine. granted, a crank wheel with 36 or 60 teeth would be better for a variety of reasons, but it would have to be...
