    Test ECU?

Like side show said, make sure that you getting all the powers to the ecu. There are 4 critical power signals that are needed for the ecu to power up. BATT = +12v all the time. +B = +12v with key on +B1 = +12v with key on IGSW = +12v with key on Also check and make sure that the MIL bulb is...

    Enlarging Head Chamber

It doesn't make a differance whether its N/A or FI, the same priciples apply. Bore size seems to have the largest effect on whether or not you run into problems... The larger the bore, the more likely you'll run into problems.... Yes, people have done it and gotton away with it with out...

    Enlarging Head Chamber

The dish formed in a piston does not effect it as it still has the Squish / Quench area. If you look at any dished / lower compression pistion, there is still a top ring at the top that is usually about .375 to .500" wide around the top before the dish startes. This gives you the squish / quench...

New Dyno for me, small improvment, 1uz Supra

Not to mention the fact that Jakes car is totally gutted of everything except for bare minimum needed things. So its significantly lighter then a normal MKIII Supra. I'd venture to guess thats he's dropped at least 600 to 700 lbs. of weight out of the car, probably more.

Thanks john... Yeah, my typing skills aren't the greatest. Give me an engine or a welder and I'll work wonders, give me keyboard and tend to screw things up.....

    Enlarging Head Chamber

Dont do it. That is what is called Squash / Quench Area and removing it will actually promote detonation. Putting a tiny radius on the sharp edges will be fine to decreas the likely hood of detonation, but dont remove it totally. It is vital.. Do a little research into Squash Area and or...

    SC300 brake disk diameter

    Yes, I do stand corrected, the SC300 and the 400 do have different rotors at least here in the states... SC300 = 275mm x 28mm SC400 = 296mm x 32mm

    SC400 -> W58 Conversion - Work Log

My 90 supra has spent many track days on Sebring international raceway with a 4puck and a turbo 7m making over 400lb/ft tq. through a W58 and its just as heavy as the SC400 (maybe heavier). The trans currently is holding up very well to the 1UZ and it has 375,XXX miles on it. Yes, there are...

    looking for 350hp 400TQ on a turbo vvt-i 1uz

You can do what you proposed by using an earlier block thus having the stonger rods, but the problem that will arise is the early blocks do not have the casting provision for oil feed for the VVTi actuation. This can be solved with some slight modifications to the block and heads and the use of...

1UZFE REVVING 6500-7K FOR NO REASON!

^^^ Yeah, Its the same for most most gasoline 4stoke's too... I only use plane-jane copper plugs in all my built up engines both N/A and Turbocharged. In a 100% stock engine (nothing more then maybe a intake and exhaust) I'll use platinums or Iridiums, but anything that has a substantial output...

    V8 PT Cruiser

I was going to suggest the same axles as justin did. the MKIII axles are quite strong. I dont know if the inner joint is different or not, but I have heard of people installing a MKIV diff and housing into a MKIII but I dont know what they did about the axles and if the bolted up or had to...

how can i tell if its a vvti 1uz-fe??

John, that you know of, has anyone actually put a VVTI engine on an engine dyno to see what the true power is? I've seen many cars with engine dyno (not chassis dyno) proven power run consistant times that showed a different power based on track time calculations. Im not saying that they are...

how can i tell if its a vvti 1uz-fe??

If it is truely a 1999 engine, then it is definitly a VVTi engine. Like david said, look at the intake that is a dead give-a-way.. Also, IIRC all VVTi engines had alloy timing belt covers where the none VVTi engines had black plastic belt covers...
