    Super Model

That's a pretty piece of work, David. It would fit well in a living room as a coffee table, it's so purty...:o) H-m-m-m-m seems a waste if all he is going to try is the TRD supercharger, all I've been able to get out of just the TRD is around 8-9 lbs of boost and that is with a 5.9 inch...

    4 Bolt Main Conversion

actually, I ran a 15.58 at Reynolds, Ga a couple of weeks back....had to run the truck because my hotrod had some gremlins. Still not tuned correctly and shuts down at the 1000 foot mark as we haven't broken the code on the speed limiter yet. I'm running 4.56 gears vice the 3.90 stock gears...

Safely boosting a 2uzfe and BOV Advice Requested

Go to Underdog Racing Development (http://www.urdusa.com/) and talk to Brian(I think that's his name). Tell him what you want to do (timing and fuel). I believe he will talk to you about the URD Mass Air Flow fuel and timing calibrator. You can control your fuel trim and retard timing with this...

Safely boosting a 2uzfe and BOV Advice Requested

Screename, are you running the fmu as a stand-alone or in series with the stock fuel pressure regulator? Also, do you have a fuel pressure gauge where you are able to observe fuel pressure while you drive? Curious as to how your fuel pressure relates to your afr. Wayne

    1UZFE Vs. 2UZFE Redline

Jibby, the first limiting factor for high rpm is the valve spring..at some point in the upper rpm scale , it will not be able to keep the cam follower (in the case of overhead cam engines) or lifters (in the case of internal cam engines) on the lobe of the camshaft. when that happens, the...

    Supercharging AND Turbocharging

Good idea Striker, however, the configuration of my TRD S/C is all one unit, i.e., the S/C portion sits underneath the intake plenum so the intake air goes directly into the S/C then into the cylinders vice S/C into a plenum into cylinders. The only way I could do dual inlet is to revamp my S/C...

    Supercharging AND Turbocharging

Thanks for the encouragement, John. I agree and will continue to tilt..:o) I may need to pick your brain from time to time to keep me from getting too far afield.... Wayne

    Supercharging AND Turbocharging

Jibby, you are a perceptive man....I started out doing the 'many-charging' thing because, in my ignorance, I thought it would be cool, I had most of the stuff to do it with, and putting together my motor at 8.6:1, I needed some bottom end oomph to get my 5200 lb sled moving. It evolved into a...

    Supercharging AND Turbocharging

David, based on my engine build, I upgraded from the GT35 to the GT42..not sure what the A/R is, will have to look again, but I believe it is a fairly tame A/R if I remember correctly. Wayne

    Supercharging AND Turbocharging

H-m-m-m-m I think I'll try again John, great site and I thank you...I believe I will experiment some more with the S/C based on what I'm reading there as well as what turboandrew is saying. I appreciate the input, guys...guess I need more knowledge and more experimentation. I am open to all...

    Supercharging AND Turbocharging

Well, folks, I'm back...you may remember my 2uzfe...TRD S/C, Garrett GT 42, 200 hp nitrous and alcohol injection....put it all back together and am still in the process of tuning....I recently took the S/C off to see if it was a restriction to the turbo (charging from the turbo through the S/C)...

    My 1uzfe twin turbo finnished!

actually, 340i, the rear mounted turbo setups run quite well..I have one on my 4.7 tundra....haven't got afr tuned yet, but initial impressions are very good. Company called Squires Turbo Systems (STS) sells rear mounted turbo kits here in the states...there are a bunch of them installed and...

What is the ultimate combination of Toyota V8 parts?

John, I don't have empirical data about the 2UZ crankshaft at this point...going by the wide parting line, my machinist and the fact that I catestrophically destroyed my old motor and barely put a scratch on the crank. I will do some homework and look for something we can sink our teeth...

What is the ultimate combination of Toyota V8 parts?

Quadcam, David and I have gone a couple of different ways to the same end....I've built a 4.7 2UZFE with the 2UZ heads and David has done the same thing with 1UZ heads. Mine is running and in the process of being tuned in my '03 Tundra. Synopsis: Cast Iron 2UZFE block, bored .005 over and...

    4 Bolt Main Conversion

Patience, Grasshoppa.....been really busy and haven't had a chance to work on the MGM....gonna be even longer, because I am fixin' to pull the supercharger and run the turbo straight in and see what differences I see. Will have to re-tune for that configuration as well. I am going to go with...

Safely boosting a 2uzfe and BOV Advice Requested

Now that the Unichip situation is clear, I tend to agree with you....the Unichip wasn't set up for as much fuel as the rise in FMU pressure is dumping under boost. I still prefer the ability to make tuning adjustments myself...that is why I went from the Unichip to Split Second. Nothing wrong...
