Ok, the interesting is, my car, a 94 LS400 does not have the EGR modulator, and the two hoses that are suposed to be connected to it from the throttle body. It only has one hose going from the throttle body, the other two nipples are capped off, and it only has the EGR valve, no modulator. WTF?

But if I unplugged the solenoid, wouldnt the valve be closed permanently, and do virtually the same thing as the block off plates do? And the resistor used to prevent a CEL.

What if I just disconnect electrical connector from the egr solenoid, and install the resistor, without putting in the block off plates?

What if, instead of removing the EGR pipe alltogether, I just used the block off plate between the pipe and intake manifold, this way preventing exaust leak, and preventing exaust gases from entering the engine, but without getting struggling with the damn pipe?
