    Power Steering Pump Reco

Hi. It's not a huge job to rebuild the pump, but probabaly not a job for someone who hasnt rebuilt mechanical assemblies before, use your own judgement on that I guess. If you decide to chrome the tank, you will have to remove the tank lid. It is held in place with the bottom lip bent over in...

    Power Steering Pump Reco

I was only jokin when I asked how much. It's probably cost me more than that with time and running around chasing seals and visits to the platers etc. 100K isn't huge miles on a pump, but if you got all the new replacement parts ready to go it wouldnt take long to strip and rebuild it. You'd...

    Power Steering Pump Reco

Hi, no didnt do the polishing myself. The steel parts were chrome plated and the aluminium parts polished by the same guy who runs a shop out of Dandenong in Melbourne. Hopefully there wont be any leaks, but I wont know until the engine is back together....probably a few months a way :( Elliot

    Power Steering Pump Reco

The whole lot from a bearing supplier (apart from the oil seal) cost me about $15 and all the parts were on the shelf as they are just standard parts with nitrile o rings. Elliot

    Power Steering Pump Reco

Anyone considering reconditioning their own power steering pump on their 1UZ, please read on..... I've just stripped the pump on my 1UZ, had all the parts chromed and polished and ready to assemble. I took the changeable parts (bearing, oil seal, o rings etc) down to my local bearing shop and...

    Injection harness issues

Ok, so if I change cam profile I will need bigger injectors. Is there some kind of table or formula to calculate which injectors I will need? I will have to run temporarily with the standard ecu until my car has been signed off by my engineer. As soon as that happens I will fit an...

    Injection harness issues

Thanks for all the replies. From the photo posted, my injectors look like the clip is the same style as the first and third. I've attached a pic of one of mine if that confirms it. yes I would be very grateful if anyone has a part number for a clip to match. I'd prefer to buy a whole set of new...

    Injection harness issues

Now I know some of you will have had the same problem, so I'm hoping theres an easy solution. I've stripped down the top end of my engine and discovered that just about every injector harness clip broke as I removed it. Does someone make a replacement harness ? Or can each individual connector...

    Header flanges and gaskets

Glad the set arrived with you fairly quickly mate. Hope they are better than expected. I spent quite some time measuring and working on the CAD drawings for both my own personal use and to use for the laser cutting of the flanges to help other 1uz owners do custom headers. A few people have...

    throttle body vacuum pipe

Got the parts from the throttle body chromed at last. A one week quoted job turned out to take them 3 weeks and for that they only returned 25 of the 40+ parts I gave them to chrome. Luckily, they only lost nuts and bolts and washers....but still...I had to chase up stainless steel ones... Got...

    Header flanges and gaskets

What thickness material ? I have done a small write up with dimensional info on an ad I put on Ebay au yesterday. You might want to read through that and make sure the spec is what you want. if you need different sized holes etc, this can be done quite easily. Elliot

    Vendor Complete Engine Rebuilt kit

Ok, that's an excellent price. I didnt actuslly want to rebuild the top end of my engine but after removing the TB can see a build up of crud etc probably thanks to the EGR system. I am assuming that from what I can see through the TB port into the plunum that the valves, piston tops will also...
