    Have found a short term fix for this problem :) Went out and purchased a Bosch Compressor bypass valve fitted it to the intake pipe just in front of the TB.. Problem solved :) Have been told i need to get larger exhaust housings and wheels to fix it properly but the CBV will do it for now...

    Motor is standard bore size, so it has not been rebuilt with later rods. First pic is broken rod with what appears a good one next to it. Second pic is side view of good one, we thought lol. Third one is of top of piston. These rods measure exactly the same as 2uz and 3uz rods as quoted by Lextreme.

    After chasing gaskets etc from toyota it appears my motor is from a 95ish ls400 which has smaller rods and shorter pistons with comp at 10.5 to 1. Which is great in na form as it has more horsepower but not so good when you turbo it.

    Had no problem with detonation at all, i will do some measurments of the rods tomorrow but it looks like they are the same size as 2uz rods. I need to research this a bit more.

    Anything up to 32` advance within the 0 to 100kpa maps(off boost), then around 15` advance within 100 to 200 kpa map's (boost). Hope this is what you mean as i'm not a tuner, bit of a novice when it comes to reading the Kalmaker maps. No water injection ,if that's what you meant,

    Dual 3" system all the way with no cat's and just the 2 mufflers, it is very quiet on idle with no droning at all but sounds sweet when you open the throttle :)

    Just took a couple of pics of the waste gate actuators, as you can see i had to modify one of them by moving the mounting bracket from the front of the compressor housing to the rear of it thus also had to shorten the actuator lever. Would this have any effect?

I can drive along at about 3000 rpm in any gear and its fine but if i decrease rpm slightly i get the surge. Under accelaration its ok and when changing gears the bov vents and i may get a little...

    Turbo's have internal waste gates.... Waste gate vacum line comes off the intake pipe halfway between the intercooler and the throttle body, then goes to manual boost controler and then tee's off to the waste gate actuator's...
