Check out the difference in piping length - Original routing - turbo to IC to intake New routing - turbo to piping to FMIC to piping to intake. Total piping length added was probably 6 or 7 feet all told. Mind you it did take the intake temps at 25-30 PSI down from 175-195F to...

Yeah I got to drive the truck home last night - its pretty badass. A2A is definitely simpler, less expensive, and generally more than adequate for a street car. I usually go W2A for drag applications or road race appliations where throttle response is critical and I want to minimize lag...

    Twin Intake for Twin Turbo

Thanks! Its an awsome car. I took the pictures in the Toyota Automotive Museum in Nagoya - its an awsome place. If you are ever in that area I highly reccomend it. I heard the Toyota industrial museum is cool as well but I haven't been to that one yet.

    Twin Intake for Twin Turbo

Adding them before the TB rather than as an integrated part of the manifold would be easiest and keep the compexity down.

Dig out the old scan tool and the NVH tester adapter. Its an accelerometer that you stick on the Drivers seat bolt. It hooks to the stock ECU through the OBD2 port and you can look at the vibration and see if it lines up as a first second or third order vibration at driveshaft speed, engine...

My thoughts as well. Khris - the new Tacoma 4.0L supercharger thats coming out has a A2W intercooler and uses a pump and resivoir. We just put one on (finished today) and its awsome. You might call TRD and see if you can order the pump and resivoir seperately? Its a really nice pump.

Just in the upper oil pan would be fine. Preferably someplace where the oil doesn't have to travel too far to find its way into the lower pan.

Has Anyone Run AV Gas in the 2UZ

I've put AV GAS in a supercharged M1UZ - but it wasn't anywhere near 120 octane - it was like 103 or maybe 107. It didn't fix the knock issue we were dealing with (which was probably due to a lean condition or too much timing but the ECU wasn't tuneable by us so I can't say for sure). But...

    Twin Intake for Twin Turbo

Thats a twin throttle body setup, but not actually a twin intake. Obviously they have twin intercoolers and did that to minimize the length of the plumbing, but I thin if I were designing that I would route the pipes rearward and loop them back towards the plenum from the rear and have them both...

    Twin Intake for Twin Turbo

Why the fascination with a twin intake? Using a single plenum ensures even pressure distribution to all cylinders, which makes the car easier to tune. Is this a looks thing or do you actually feel there is a performance benefit?

Hey Khris - its Dave. I still think a wideband O2 with gauge would be a very wise investment. Street tuning is necessary, not just a time saver when you get to the dyno. The hole next to teh ID tag you asked about in this picture: Is a pressure reference port - thats the discharge for...
