Also look at all the other manifolds posted - that Greddy is the only one with that convoluted shape.

    Twin Intake for Twin Turbo

a 4" D shape extrusion with an 84mm TB on the end, no taper in the plenum and a properly tapered inlet for each runner in it can flow at close to zero loss to all cylinders on a flowbench - this much I know for a fact. Its not as pretty, but you can get the parts to custom make one for pretty...

You can put the wideband anywhere after the flamefront so 1 foot back or more would be fine. I usually put them close to where the stock front O2 sensor goes. I would not put it in the H pipe - not really enough flow through there, its a pressure equalization device only. That first link...

Supercharger Vs. Turbo- Off the Line Results

For my money a propely setup turbo > SC every day. The key is not to pick a HP level but rather a performance goal. If your goal is 0 to 60 performance you can pick a smaller turbo that will spool every bit as fast as a supercharger and make great power. This is especially true un autos with a 2...

yeah - I don't think you could come close with a stock one. The modified one doesn't do it WELL either - it was beating up the air pretty bad. The new T3/T4 is a much better unit. I've considered a GT35R as well, but I worry about the spool time and non linear power delivery on a small motor. It...

Standalone ECU AEM EMS driving UZ's

I double-checked my numbers with a scope. The DIS coils are a 4-5 V positive signal on IGT, not a 12v positive signal.

Has Anyone Run AV Gas in the 2UZ

I know. It was a boat with watercooled manifolds - there was no AF gauge and no place to put one so we didn't know if it was rattling from lean, or just insufficient octane or what. We figured we would give it a try.

    Twin Intake for Twin Turbo

1 - ITBs are purely a throttle response and modulation thing. You still run a plenum with them - the plenum is just before the throttle valve and not after. The reason no-body runs a twin intake withotu the ballancing is if you have one turbo that starts failing or a bank that runs a bit lean...

I have 2 of the AEM wideband O2 sensors. The Gauge type is just the ticket for your application. I would definitely get a 1:1 pressure regulator and a piggyback. A FMU will not be able to re-fuel your car under low load / no boost to compensate for the larger injectors. I've never worked...

Sure it will - I have the logs from my EMS to prove it. All it takes is 3 thick washers between the wastegate actuator and the compressor housing. Remember it is a modified unit with a 60 trim compressor wheel and a clipped turbine.

Yep - turbo had shaft play after like 3500 miles. It was a fun 3500 miles though :D

Standalone ECU AEM EMS driving UZ's

Nope - never heard of it. If you want to use it with the DIS coil packs from the Toyota it will need to have a 12V trigger, not a ground trigger.

Standalone ECU AEM EMS driving UZ's

Just a hint for the guys going AEM on boosted motors. It is WAY easier to tune your fuel curve if you use a 2D fuel map with boost comp and throttle comp. The 2D map winds up basically beign the VE curve of the motor. the Boost comp map is a straight line from 0 Bar to 1 Bar with it adding 0% at...

Looks good! Have you thought about ceramic coating to keep the heat in?

    Supercharging a SC430

I have done it on Celicas and MR2s. I have put a standalone on an 03 DBW Celica with a 2ZZ-GE. The standalone runs the ignition, fuel, VVTi and VVTL, stock ECU runs gauges and DBW throttle. I also worked with a friend to put one on a MR2 Spyder with an SMT and DBW throttle. We also put one...

No dyno numbers on the current setup as I haven't finished installing it all yet. The previous setup (60 Trim T3 compressor in the CT26 housing with clipped turbine) was about 320 to the tire at 30 PSI. I only had 550cc injectors in it at the time (not enough) though and wound up popping the...

Yeah I know - I have a T3/T4 setup with a Tial 38mm external WG ready to go on - I just have to get around to installing it.

    Supercharging a SC430

Fried pistons is often a tuning related issue. I hate piggybacks on high powered cars for this reason - you have top pussyfoot around with your tune to minimize your fuel trims in closed loop or it hoses your tune when in open loop. Its much easier to plumb in a full standalone in parralel with...
