Anyone know what the "Soon a STROKER kit for the 1UZ" is? I don't want to re-invent the wheel if someone already has a working combination of parts ready to go.

    Water/Air Intercooler

Ask Hans, he sells Autorotor & Laminova http://www.hi-flow.com/ http://www.hi-flow.com/HPIC1.htm

Air to Air or Water to Air (Round 1)

I don't race & have no knowlege of regulations, I'm commenting from a purely technical/engineering point of view. However if removing the intercooler bumps you up a class then I assume there is a clear net ET benefit in removing the (effectively)non-functional weight. :ninja:

Air to Air or Water to Air (Round 1)

well...the point of cooling is to get a denser charge (more oxygen). Methanol & nitromethane are oxygenated fuels so it is silly to add weight with intercooling. They don't call it "top fuel" for nothing.

Air to Air or Water to Air (Round 1)

"Hard-core" racing without intercooling will mean running methanol or nitromethane fuels, both of which have very low AFR's (i.e. the fuel does the cooling) - not that WAIC is not good for drags. WAIC is very good in stop-start driving and drag applications (pump fuel). :ninja:

Some of PWR's "good work". I don't recommend PWR... I do recommend ARE.

Supliers of twin screw blowers in Australia

I think IHI has license from Lysholm to make kompressors. I'm not 100% certain that mercedes uses units made by IHI, just something I have been told.

Supliers of twin screw blowers in Australia

One of the main points of interest for me is to know what range of pressure ratios (boost) were tested/reasearched. From my investigations the autorotor was the only unit engineered for PR's aproaching 3 (approx 2bar/30psi). As I am running 1.8bar the choice was therefore Autorotor. I can't...

    Twin Screw sizing

Yes same owner, but the products are quite different. The similarity is they both use twin helical screw configuraton, but that pretty much all. the housings are different the screws are different(ie lobes), autorotors are a billet case, the drive gears are different... Just because the parent...

Supliers of twin screw blowers in Australia

Yep, Hans is the man. I was not impressed by (lack of) response from Sprintex. And IMHO autorotor are better than whipple (which are actually lysholm) :ninja:

    Twin Screw sizing

Depends on the internal PR of the unit and how much boost you want/expect. The autorotors have a "best" efficiency zone so if you get too far from this you will not get a good result. My setup (work in progress) is a 2.8L H4 (subaru) with the OA424 (2.4L/rev) driven at 1.5:1 with 7000rpm...

    PWR Intercoolers

You're right in that ARE probably aren't up to supplying a large volume market as is the US. In Oz the reverse is the case. IMHO for those that are in the US, ARE is not going to be the answer as they are much smaller and like to be more "hands-on". PWR in the US is probably more...

    PWR Intercoolers

If you're serious about a WAIC setup then get in touch with Richard at; http://www.are.com.au ARE have a lot of experiance and do an excellent job match the right system for your application. PWR are "optimistic" with their power ratings. Their quality and service are less than great too.
