    1UZ in 93-98 Rx 7

The weight distribution of an RX-7 with an LS1 is actually a little better biased towards the rear. The LS1 is an incredibly light engine. I think that if the LS1 would fit, then the 1UZ would fit too, but the LS1 is pretty compact and I'm not sure how it compares in size to the 1UZ.

    NA Dyno 2000 Projection

Grind the crank down even more and we can use a longer Lentz rod (all over ebay for $200) with more stroke and a better rod-to-stroke ratio. They also have ultra-lites going for $700 a set, BRAND NEW. Do you have any of the files you used for this? Like the Kelford cam file?

    Oil Jets

I'd rather have higher oil pressure than piston squirters. In fact, I've seen a number of people pinch off or remove the squirters in engines that came with them. I've also seen a lot of high horsepower, turbocharged engines not run them. Just keep in mind that you are altering lubrication of...

    NA Piston Options

I don't think 1.25mm would be a problem. That's more than half the original thickness, and in an N/A application, I think we can sacrifice a bit of sleeve thickness. If I ever get my hands on a 1UZ, I'll bore it out to 89mm and tell you guys how it went. :)

    UZ-FE vs. VH45DE

This is a site which highlights the features of the VK45DE (basically a newer version of the VH45DE) and compares it to Nissan's IRL engine. Check that one out... 10,700 rpm rev limit! In my opinion, the VH45DE is a great engine, with many features superior to those of the 1UZ, but there are...

    UZ-FE vs. VH45DE

Looks like it, and I would assume those things next to them would be hydraulic lash adjusters. I don't see the lower intake manifold in that picture. The LIM has 2 ports for every intake port. It would probably be more difficult to fabricate an intake manifold using the stock lower as others...

    Miata Swap

Awesome, I was wondering if a UZ would fit in the Miata, now I know.

How much NOS spray can this block take?

If a valve stuck open, chances are it's related to the timing belt, or perhaps a valve spring (or retainer/clips).

    1UZ fits in Supra!

Damn, I'd love to pick up a JZA80 chassis to put a 1UZ into... if only they weren't so over-valued.

    Eaton M90

Yeah, I was gonna say, just because the rotors don't touch doesn't mean the teflon doesn't reduce friction. Twin-lobe superchargers aren't ideal; I'd go with a twin-screw. But typically the Eatons are cheaper.

    Heat Treatment

I've never really heard of heat treating as a process for parts; usually it's cryo treatment. But from what I've seen, if you treat a metal to give 2X in one area, it gives half in another. For instance, if you cryo treat your crank, it'll be twice as hard but half as tough. It's difficult to...

    Is Bullet still in business?

Hehe, quite a few Mustang Cobras that I've seen at the track are like that. Makes me jealous. So Bullet does in fact stretch the Miata frame, right? I'm just trying to look into seeing if I can shoehorn a 1UZ with no accessories into a second-gen Miata. I LOVE the styling, handling, and...

    Porting heads for more power

Thank you for referencing a solid source, but 1960? That's pretty old, don't you think? If everyone thought like you guys, then we'd never even have the wheel, we'd all be footing it everywhere. "No need to re-invent the wheel, let's just use what we've got already." I don't understand what you...

    Power Perspective

Damn. $1000/sec, that actually doesn't sound that expensive considering it's a Top Fuel dragster! Nitro is good stuff, I think it's the next logical evolution of water/alcohol injection.

    Harder than Hard

I haven't even found a decent source for 1UZ-3UZ info besides this place. But then again, I pretty much stopped when I found this. :) Seriously though, every time I look for info outside the forum, I end up with either links to the forum or nothing useful.

So it's no worry grinding away at the guides? I mean, obviously as long as nothing gets screwed up.

    Porting heads for more power

I suppose you're talking about me? If so, then yeah, here's some ground-breaking earth-shattering information you failed to read the first time I wrote it: Nowhere did I say that my word was law or that I knew everything. My basic understanding of fluid dynamics comes from heat transfer and...

    Lexus LS460

Yeah... though from this angle it looks as though it would look much better with a wing. I'm really getting tired of the pointed 350Z-style tail lights. I hate them on the stock 350Z (they don't look too bad on a nicely modified 350Z). The only way the rest of those taillights will be to my...

I thought they also had a W8? Hmm. I did not know that anyone made a V5. Interesting!

    Porting heads for more power

Roughing the walls will increase turbulence. By design, this means the fuel will have a greater chance of touching the port walls. There is much more mixing of a fluid against the wall when the wall's surface is not smooth. But personally I think the fuel is going to hit the wall anyway, and...
