Anyone notice Staff's manifold looks just like the FAT one? http://lextreme.com/forums/showpost.php?p=17338&postcount=21

FI with VVT vs non VVT

Morris, Contact Lex Luthor on Clublexus. Even though he turbo'd a late model sc300, he will probably have some tips for you. You may also want to contact some of the is300 tuners and see what pit stops you can avoid.

Beautiful work. You've come a long way from the days of the undermount turbos.

Project Thread SC470TT (VVTi) Twin Turbo Lexus SC400 with 4.7L Toyota Tundra Engine

I believe what you described is how a stock twin turbo supra works. You may want to steal some ideas from the supra and possible some parts to get your project working.

Forum does not work with Firefox

http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/central.html That's a link to firefox. It's a great browser. It blocks pop ups and spyware. I've been using it for over a year now and haven't had a problem.

    Twin Turbo Intercooler Design

Unless lextreme has some secret trick to cool the air to near freezing temperatures, the difference in inlet and outlet diameters is minimal. I just suggested he stick with the 2.5 outlet to save some money. The difference in size should have minimal effects on cooling and performance.

    Twin Turbo Intercooler Design

#1 That's the design with the least possibility of the air flow changing in direction. You probably don't need the 3 inch outlet. The same diameter inlet and outlet should be fine.

    Twin Turbo Intercooler Design

Can you describe your set up? For now, I am going to assume each turbo is collecting from each side. I think a better design would be two separate intercoolers joined at the outlet via a y merge to minimize some of the turbulence. Space is a commodity so this might not be possible...

Another Happy Customer from Rush Imports Headers

Damien, Could it be that you have a 5 speed conversion which prevents you from running rich? I think my problem is that when I go WOT and the auto tranny is initially shifting, it runs rich, a little too rich. I have gone through 2 sets of cats before I went to straight pipes. On the...

Another Happy Customer from Rush Imports Headers

The cats don't need to be eliminated. They can be put further downstream in the exhaust. From your original message, the owner is in NY. He is going to have a terrible time trying to get his car to pass inspection without cats. And if he has a 96 and newer model, I'd say it's damn near...

Another Happy Customer from Rush Imports Headers

I have tex's headers as seen on peter scott's site. They seem very similar to the ones at rush. http://www.planetsoarer.com/extractors/SoarerExtractors.html Mine were JetCoated and have held up well after almost 3 years of Northeast winters. You can read up about here...

Another Happy Customer from Rush Imports Headers

Lex, I'm not sure who got the headers installed but warn him that he may begin to run a little rich and start eating up his cats. I went through a few sets of cats before I finally said screw it and went for test pipes. Since there hasn't been too much info on these headers and any...

    Project Thread Project SC400TT

Lextreme probably didn't mean to offend, but I agree with him wholeheartedly. By planning out everything on paper, you can save alot of money and time. Not to say there won't be problems while building, but you will definitely encounter less problems if it's all on paper before you start...

    Variable SC Pulley

I don't think you quite understood my explanation. Rather than a system where you change gears like a tranny, the diameter of the pully itself would change in diamter/size. And to accomodate the change in belt length, a dynamic belt tensioner would be needed. A clutch wouldn't be needed...

    Variable SC Pulley

I have been running this idea through my head for a few days now and was wondering if it has been done and if so, how was it done. I remember reading a year or two ago about Audi's (not 100% sure if Audi) solution for a sequential transmission using a variable diameter gear rather than...

Pics of INJEN intake for SC400

If you do a little research on www.planetsoarer.com, you will find that after market pod type filters actually hinder performance. Possible reasons are that: 1) the intake resonator is designed to perfection 2) Pod type snorkels inhale too much heat from the engine bay Link...
