I'd consider a thicker piece of plate for the bracket. Over time that will crack - had a similar problem on my 87 Celica GTS years ago when I fitted a hi-amp GM alternator to it and made a custom bracket.

I believe a kit for the Ford 5.0 works for the 1UZ. It's on here somewhere - search for "oil filter relocation".

Have a look at what Brad Bedell did. He got something stock and modified it slightly to fit an IS.

Get the LS 341 and use the bellhousing, torque converter, oil pump and input/planetary. Then the only issue is the wiring. Not sure about the 341 BH fitting the 440, but it should (the 341 BH fits the 340, plus I bought a Tundra BH and it also fit my 340 - I think V8 Tundra has 440 series?)

Just waiting on my parts to come back from VA. Turns out the coolant pipe that goes under the intake is too long for my buddies oven, so that piece may have to be done locally if I get too impatient for him to finish his larger oven. There's no shortage of other stuff to work on, but I am...

What about the sensor up by the bellhousing? (Present on A341E, but not used on the A340x trannies - although there is a boss there to mount one)
