    Lexus V8 in a GT40 replica?

I am friendly with a fellow here in Aus that built a GT40 replica with a 1uz quite a few years ago. He also used a Porsche G50 transaxle. He is a machinist, so made all his own conversion parts. Made his own billet ITB's etc, etc. Very horny car, really sounds the sh1t. He is a pretty low...

    cleaning idle control valve?

Start with the basics Michael, chech for vacum leaks would be the first from a split hose. Then I'd head into the ignition, dizzy caps, rotor buttons, leads, plugs. When was it last serviced? Fault finding is a process of elimination, start with the most probable cause and work from there...

    3UZ to R154 Gearbox

Yes Curbo, that is an R154. Measurements are always taken from the bellhousing mounting face. If the box came from a JZ series engine you will be able to use one of the V160 adapters in the Group Buy section. If from a 7M you will need a full bellhousing. Cheers

    3UZ to R154 Gearbox

Are you measuring the length from the bellhousing mounting face on the box? Are you sure its a R154 and not a W57-8. Can you post a pic of the box please. As far as I know the only R series boxs in hiluxs were R151's which are a 4x4 box. Very different ratios and bolts up to a transfer case...

Taking Heads Off - Any special tools required?

Twisty, you've probably gathered by now that some of the head bolts are under the cams, so you will need to remove them. Another thing you will need to do is lock the scissor gear that drives the exhaust cam, just thread a bolt through it, as it is spring loaded. There is a sequence to follow...
