    SC400 Lightweight Roll Cage material??

The trans cable can be maxed out for a faster shift. Totally forgot about the line pressure! Max the adjustment nut all the way to the tip and go test drive. It will slam into drive but its not a bad thing, as it actually saves the clutch packs from wearing. It wont cut the shifts in half or...

    SC400 Lightweight Roll Cage material??

the 5 and 6 speed auto swap has been discussed but I have never seen one swapped myself. However, I do know that the stock a341 from the sc400 has slightly shorter ratios than the LS. Dsvid and myself "frankensteined" a 91 LS with a 91 SC trans and there was a noticable gain in tq. Bolts right...

    SC400 Lightweight Roll Cage material??

the "stall" speed is the rpm that will lock the torque convertor and allow the engine to feed the trans. the torque convertor will allow a pre set amount of fluid through it and as the engine rpms rises and reaches the stall speed, the convertor will lock together. Stock is 2000rpm or so...

Stock 1uz - MAP or MAF best?

I have seen a couple dyno plots for na uz with the Unichip piggyback. The leaned afr offers a decent gain and you can also squeeze out some more timing as well. An NA uz w/ headers + exhaust netted an additional 12% at the wheels when tuned. Not too shabby.

I thought it was from the shim over design? David's regrinds come with lash caps to reduce the overall shim thickness. would the caps offset the risk?

    SC400 Lightweight Roll Cage material??

The stock toyota ecu is very very cryptic and trying to crack it is virtually impossible. You can grab Unichip or any piggyback that can modify both timing and afr. Just 1 of the 2 wont be produce enough gain for the price so keep that in mind. I have seen some solid NA gains on the UZ. The UZ...

Trying to find cheap or used/cheap LSD...

The 2 line of rubber is proof enough! Congrats on the swap, probobly only a couple LS's with an LSD out there. That 1st pic looks like a brand new unit.

    S14 1uz with itbs on e85

If your planning to rev higher than 7k, regrinds become a problem with the stock shim over bucket. They tend to flick out easily. Since the UZ can take up 10,000rpm w/ the right valvetrain, a set of billet Kelford cams would be the better fit. They offer a few profiles as well. Stiffer valve...

    SC400 Lightweight Roll Cage material??

Oops forgot to ask, have you redone the stock exhaust? If you delete the front cats + center resonator and rear 4 mufflers... replace the system with a single 3" single exit. Another 75lb can be taken out.

    SC400 Lightweight Roll Cage material??

Your LS must ride like rails w/ the cage and the weight savings. Fab work is top notch too. With the door glass taken out I think you might be able to hit 3000 even. My sc400 has a lot of reduction but supercharger + dash + glass still and im down to 3100lb. Its too bad the LS doesnt haver a...

Need advice (and maybe a motor) PART 2 - BOUGHT A MOTOR

hell yeah, looking forward to the new numbers. Hey KC, im debating water/meth setup or big intercooler for my new 4.7L swap. How long does an average tank of water/meth last you under average driving conditions? I know it drains faster if your riding the boost but could I manage a full tank...

Outer shell for lower control arm bushings, where to buy?

Sadly, the outer press-out shells are not sold individually. I have done bushing overhauls on a few lexus models and have been in the same situation before. I know Lextreme used to sell the Vlamos OEM press-in bushings but cannot verify if they are still available. I am mentioning these because...

Sc400 tries to overheat while stopped with ac on

Im not referring to hydro setups in general, just the UZ setup. I had different reasons for electric fans = weight savings + simplicity + extra clearance for the blower. My coolant gauge dropped about the width of 2 needles after the swap. I know that OEM sensors are not 100% accurate but this...

Sc400 tries to overheat while stopped with ac on

As long as the car wont overheat on the freeway, you can rule out a clogged/scaled radiator. Electric fans will be more efficient than the hydro setup and can be done very cheaply as well. I picked up two 14" fans at kragen for about $100 and they cool better than stock. This is without a stock...
