Parts Modded SC400 Part Out (Lots of good parts!)

All I have left is a set of brand new tires 245/35r19's Nexens for $300. Never been mounted on rims.

    1uzfe uprated crank

Tuf Lux is spot on. Stock crank can handle some serious HP. Very stout.

    1uz into 80series

best bet is to find a yard and buy one used. After a quick search, found a couple options. Ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-NEW-Lexus-Gas-Fuel-Injection-Pressure-Regulator-LS-/310312089237?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ASC400&hash=item48400ab695&vxp=mtr...

I have been told that the denso supra pumps are capable of higher pressures when compared to the walbro. The original regulator setting could have caused the higher pressure.

    007 Lexus-Building the Ultimate LS400

Its probably a website issue. I just bought a set of PPE headers a couple months ago. You can also get them here as well: http://shopfigs.com/v1/index.php?route=product/product&path=63_62&product_id=163

SC400 Runs bad and stalls when warmed up

Try disconnecting the MAF sensor and then reevaluate. If driveability improves, this usually says bad MAF. Also, if your ECT sensor (engine coolant temp) is biased (reading low), the computer may assume that the engine is cold when it is not and continue to dump fuel to speed warm up. Once the...

    007 Lexus-Building the Ultimate LS400

Yes! On a stock engine you can expect 20whp and 20wtq. When boosted, the gains will be even higher. Stock manifolds are very very restrictive.

Sorry forgot that you are supercharged. 2.5" dual would be the best size.

Ron, The only company selling headers for the LS is PPE and they run betweem $650 and $700. All the exhaust systems available for the LS start at the mid catalyst (just after the first Y merge). Best route on cat backs or header backs would be custom as its cheaper in most cases. Best...

    Auto into 4x4 extreme

The standard a340 box can take roughly 400btq (350wtq) on a passenger car with ratios ranging from a stock 3.25 (gs400) to a 4.27 (sc300). I would say an N/A 1uz with basic bolt-ons would be just fine with 35"s. Once you start adding forced induction (extreme gear ratios as well?), this changes...

Is there any kind of turbo blanket underneath the metal heat shields? Adding a blanket in between would contain even more of the heat. The best mod I ever did to drop underhood temps was adding a true drop vent hood (seibon TS-II) for the SC. The vents are placed directly above the turbos and...

    Coming From Waldorf, MD (USA)

Welcome to Lextreme. For 400bhp, this can be achieved on a low boost setup (6psi or so) and the VVTi can hit 400 with basic bolt ons (I/H/E/tune). What year UZ do you have?

    Back In Action

Just replaced the main fuel filter last week and there is lots of extra room. The oem pump looks identical. Anyway I mocked up the walbro and it fits perfectly. Thanks for mentioning the 60psi limit of the pump as I doubt it will work well with my 12:1 fuel reg. I need well over 60psi for it to...

    Back In Action

Great suggestion! Basically use the fuel pump module output circuit (feeding the pump) as a trigger for a relay which commands 100% operation. Do you know if running the fuel pump at 100% output will shorten pump life? Arnt the early pumps set in 2 stage? 50% output and then 100% output? If...

    Variable drive supercharger

Its a great idea. Any factory cars running this tech? I would liek to take a differential and combine it with a CVT. Tall or short gears on the fly would be awesome.

Thanks Gloverman, great info. Never really considered the vvti vs early interchangeability. A lot of guys on club lexus were dropping in injectors but I guess I need to know exactly which ones they referred to. I find it interesting that the stock injectors have been known to support 400bhp and...

    Back In Action

Gloverman, I havent decided through and through to take the return line route. I know some people have been somewhat successful with 315cc's on the stock ECU and I have heard that some were ok with very low boost with no fuel mods at all (3-4psi). I think the easiest would be to get some 7MGE...

    Back In Action

I have a question: I am planning to adapt a return line for my returnless fuel system with a rising rate regulator and a walbro pump to solve my fuelling issue. Would I have to re-wire the pump for 100% operation with ignition present? Or could I leave pump circuitry alone? Also, I have read...

Centrifugal + wastegate = more torque!!

As stated in the article, IAT's actually dropped once boost had ramped up due the effeciency of the intercooler and this is with the blower pulley'd down. In the interest of stellar IAT's I have a 4 core intercooler in addition to a 50/50 water/meth setup. IAT's are not even a concern. Regarding...
