    Engineer passed conversion

$550, ouch. In QLd its $70, and a very basic inspection. The enginner didn't even drive my truck. I am still blown away with how easy it is to get a engine swap approved in QLD. But congrats anyway Zuffen for passing it all !!!

    Polishing our heads

I thought about getting the glass beeding done on mine (Guts, yours looks really nice compared to mine). Only need the AFM, Throttle body and intake manifold done, then maybe colour code the cam covers to the same as the truck. Does anyone know more about the glass beeding. Would the sensors...

Time to start fitting 1UZ into my hilux

But its has the ass cut off it and been plastic welded to clear the Brake Booster, so its not being used as toyota designed it to anyway. It might be making things worse, which is the main reason I wanted to get rid of it. It would be very interesting to dyno my current setup, then Guts's...

    Some 1uz swap questions

I've done both, ball joint lift and tosion bar crank. I've got about 3" lift out of it, but you could push it to 4" if it was for "show" only. But there is no ill effects, handles the same, wheels alignment is all fine, the only problem I had is my Rancho Shocks weren't long enough. I've got...

    Some 1uz swap questions

For the 2nd Gen a diif drop is a piece of cake. Just make to 30mm spacers out of Nylon or solid alloy like the ones in the pic (objects 3rd accross from the left), and get new longer high tensile bolts. These just go on the two rear mounts, and the diff pivots on the front crossmember. This site...

Time to start fitting 1UZ into my hilux

Looks good Guts!! Did you end up making the adpapter, or buying an off the shelf one? What did the rubber hose from the AFM to the Throttle Body come off? I would much prefer that setup to the modified silencer box thing I have at the moment.

    1UZFE into V6 4Runner with Wolf 3D

Guts, this pic should hopefully help....It actually goes through the Brake MC, but don't do it the way I have. When offroad the motor must moves enough to make the cable housing grip on the brake mc and keeps the revs high. It also revs the motor itself when in reverse as the motor must torque...

    1UZFE into V6 4Runner with Wolf 3D

Nope Guts, no brake test. He didn't even drive the thing at all. The appritance drove it into the workshop and out. I'm really surprised how easy it is to get an engine conversion done in QLD when every other mod is impossible to get approved. Heres a couple new pics.... First one is my truck...

    1UZFE into V6 4Runner with Wolf 3D

You lucky bugger, Cheezy's is one awesome truck too!! We'll have to catch up down there anyway. Some other news on my conversion. I finally got everything approved today, and got the mod plate fitted etc... I didn't pass the first time as I didn't have the ecu mounted, no steering dampner...

Sounds good guts.....still got a bit to do then....will you be taking it to Tuff Truck in April if your all up and running? I'd be keen to check your truck out in person...

    1UZFE into V6 4Runner with Wolf 3D

nah, guage is fine for all everyday driving, and also giving at a flogging at speed. Just starts to get warm on low speed, high load events. I haven't let it get close to boiling yet. Its buy no means a nusience. Its only done it in really soft sand, with lots of full throttle fun!!

    1UZFE into V6 4Runner with Wolf 3D

I'll be interested to see how yours goes then, cooling wise. I'm still unsure what to do yet. Hopefully removing the mitre joints fixes it. But not sure if it still overheats after that. You must be getting pretty close to up and running by now?? how much longer do you think?

    1UZFE into V6 4Runner with Wolf 3D

Guts, I'm running the Std. 4Runner V6 radiator with the inlet/outlet swapped to the opposite sides of the tank to line up with 1UZ Hoses. I'm running a 16" "ICE" thermo fan mounted to the front of the radiator. I can't give you temps in degrees but on a hot day the guage hardly move, sits just...

    Under bonnet air temps

Are yep, I seen that one, it'd be a bit ugly I think on the 4Runner....I think I'll just get some kind of airbox made up....

    Under bonnet air temps

Do you think 2 x 3" mandrel bent snorkels would cause a restriction? I didn't think they'd be that bad?? I couldn't find anything on the Donaldson "Turbo Filter", but there "Power Core" range looks interesting. http://www.donaldsonfilters.com.au/uploads/PowerCore%20Filtration.pdf

    Under bonnet air temps

Exactly why I hate my pod filter. Have you got pics of your setup Zuffen? I am about to get twin 3" snorkels made up for my truck but am still stumped with what to do for an airbox. One thought I had was to mount some filters on the end of the snorkels (3" cylinder pod type), but I...
