The engine bay is HUGE! on a 75 series. You'd have no problems in fitting it. My cousin is hoping to do it to his very nice 75 series this year. I wouldn't be worried about the alternator. It was the same height in my V6 and it lasted pretty well. Blew the regulator on the odd occasion...

Its a custom solid steel one from Venom Fabrications. Interstingly the one of my old V6 (3VZE) fitted onto the 1UZ, but would need machining for the ring gear to line up correctly.

If its the same as my flywheel (pics below), the ring gear is hidden in the photo above by the rest of the flywheel. I can't help you with your other questions though, sorry.

What makes it cost so much in other states then?

My dellow belhousing (1UZ to R150F) all bolted up pretty good. I have had clutch problems, but have been too lazy to drop the box and find out exactly whats causing it. When I spoke to Dellows on the phone about the clutch stuff he was fairly helpful.
