Was out on site all day yesterday, and had too much work on today.... So whats you plans now? still getting a new radiator? or sticking with the standard one? Sideshow, how easy are those things to program for the on/off settings for the thermo?? I'll be keen on getting one....I will...

Yeah, I've seen a 1UZ surf with this setup....it's not very pretty, and I can see it enjoying mud either.... Surely some type of car/4x4/truck has a condensor wider than the 4runner one but not as high, that could be mounted tilted forwards in the bullbar. Up under the back where the spare...

Deffinetly sounds like the AC was the problem Nem....kinda good news I guess.....thats running about the same temps as mine now!!! So looks like we'll both be on the hunt for a similar sized condensor to mount inside the bullbar?

I finally got some testing on mine done yesterday with the new water temp gauge and the new motor. Mine has a taller radiator than standard (bout 2"), the laragest hose dia. I could use, thermo fan which at the moment runs constantly and is on the front of the radiator (no aircon) and a forward...

Well mine should be back on the road this weekend.....and I've installed a quality water temp gauage, and put the aircon back in front of the radiator and the thermo to the rear. So it'll be very interesting to compare the differences between ours Bryan since I've got a 3" taller copper radiator...

That looks awesome Scott!!! One day I'll get you to set the 4runner up like that for me!! Is it running the stock ecu or engine management?

    Need Pic of Radiator

As far as I'm aware, someone please correct me if I'm wrong.....cross flow radiators don't work as well as your more traditional top/bottom radiators......

    Need Pic of Radiator

On the right is the original V6 radiator which was modified to suit the V8 (hoses locations swapped sides)....The one on the left is my new radiator, all mitreded joints of the copper tubing were removed and replaced with smooth rubber hoses bends for more flow.

    Would This Be A Sin?

Yeah post some pics Scott!!! A mate is looking into dropping one into his 97 TI GQ Nissan Patrol 4x4.....I reckon it'd be a cool swap...... As for sticking one in my Toyota....no thanks....

    1uz Into Hilux 4x4 2000mod Aus.

Cool....don't suppose he made a template at all? So then I could just buy a set off him and install them myself? Or are they a one off custom job? Sydney is a bit far to take my truck for some headers.

As Nem's has said....I'm sure on mine there is a sensor with a orange(brownish) plug that isn't hooked up to my engine loom....I remember asking Scott about it when I first picked up my original motor (18months ago) and I'm pretty sure he mentioned it was for the AC Cut-out.... I haven't...

    Oil Pressure

Sorry to go off topic, but since Zuffen mentioned it I thought I'd quickly ask a question.... The new motor I've just installed (haven't got it running yet) was absolutely spotless....the timing belt was done before I got it (sticker says 96,000kms) and you can still clearly see all the timing...

Jeez, I always thought the dash gauage was atleast almost on the money with regards to the temp of the engine, I guess mine is the same as it mainly sits on halfway, and only moved up a little more when I boiled it.....

yeah mine would rise, as well as bubbles...then it would start foaming up like it had raybies!! (spelling)

Exactly what mine did the other week Bryan.....except my overflow was from the top of the radiator, and it would do it everytime you went for a drive within 5-10mins.....the radiator also bubbled with the cap off, hence the most likely blown headgasket. I've never checked that air bleed bolt...

Nah, haven't had any problems with heatsoak, only time mine has got hot was in soft sand, and high revs for about 10 mins....and that was with the old std. radiator. I guess the bonnet scoop helps mine, and I've still just got the radiator with the thermo on front....once the condensor is...
