    Project Thread Supercharged Supra

Hmm, maybe this is just hindsight speaking, but was there a reason you did not use -just- the ignition part of your ECU, and the carb for break-in? Seems like getting the ignition part of the ECU would not no more difficult (probably a lot easier in fact) than going with an ignition that is not...

Went head up yesterday against a Z07 Vette...

this is the Z07 (aka BlueDevil, SS, ZR1): http://image.automobilemag.com/f/future_cars/2008/6699026/0703_z+2009_chevrolet_corvette_SS+front_corner.jpg Which is now supposed to be marketed offically as the new ZR1 (a lot more pictures here, too)...

Went head up yesterday against a Z07 Vette...

Jibbinator, Every single picture you have showed is a C6 based Z06. The Z07 uses a positive displacement supercharger, which sits on top of the motor, similar to the Ford V8's (nothing like the pictures you have shown). You are living in a dream world if you think you kept up with a 2008 ZR1...

Went head up yesterday against a Z07 Vette...

Again, that is not a Z07. Where's the supercharger? Do you really think a unreleased ZR1 (yes, that is the name now) would be trolling around south central LA??? from Motor Trend: And do you really think a car with at least 100 less HP and 600 lbs more weight is going to keep up with...

    VVT heads on non VVT

I think many who would opt to use vvti with custom cams would probably not be anywhere near 280 degrees duration. IMO, if I have the opportunity to do this, I'm thinking more in the 255-265 degree duration range. I have not done the math, but hopefully it still makes sense to exploit vvti.

    Wanted Dizzies wanted

I can probably dig mine out, but I need to look for them. I'll check tonight. You can have a set for the cost of shipping.

    1uz, 2uz, 3uz rods any different...

That's because that "stout" is an aluminum rod! Seriously, the -only- reason a rod would fail on the very bottom of the big end is because the bolts failed. The only time there would be stress on the very bottom is when the rod is being slung upward. The most stress is where RMS stated, where...

    1uz, 2uz, 3uz rods any different...

Jibby, the picture you showed, look closely, they did not break on the very bottom of the big end. They broke between the rod portion and the big end (the top of the big end), exactly where V8Datto drew the line. That are is much stronger in the early 1UZ rods.

Standalone ECU HKS F-Con V pro

You realize only HKS Pro dealers can access the ECU to tune it, right? The user has no ability to customize the tune.

    1UZ-FE dyno day, 127 to 180 rwkW N/A

rms, you are correct, you cannot do a fixed RPM on a inertia dyno. That might be useful if you need to fine tune a specific RPM and load, etc, but lots of tuners have found the inertia dyno "good enough". Measuring a engine while as it is accelerating is not that bad of a scenario, as that's...

    1UZ-FE dyno day, 127 to 180 rwkW N/A

Makes a negligible difference what gear you are in. They measure HP by seeing how long it takes to go from X RPM to Y RPM for the roller, then they calculate torque, using your RPM logs from your engine. No need for tire diameter whatsoever. You need to log roller RPM and engine RPM (with...

    MRE Crank / Cam Sensors

Sounds like this is just a VR sensor and a signal conditioner in one, right? I wonder if not having several feet between the sensor and the conditioner is what makes the sensing range increase so much. BTW, has anyone really had any problems with the regular VR sensors? I've never heard of...

    Ek Tuning Headers

If these fit on a SC400, there's a good chance they may fit on a 93+ Supra with 1/2/3UZ

"Coil on plug" coils for 1UZFE

Never heard of a single cop causing the whole engine to not run. Certainly should not affect an aftermarket ECU. These things are fairly reliable considering they fire 1/4th the time of a 2 coil 1UZ.
