How to twin turbo an LS1 and get 500whp..

Looking at the turbos under the car, I wonder if they have to use a scavenge pump to move that oil post-turbo to the sump. Or is it good enough to simply let it build up and move itself to the sump?

    6 speed Getrag swap into a supercharged 97 SC400

OK, thanks. FWIW, I came up with the original design of the adapter, so I am curious about its abilities. My adapter is installed, but I have not driven the car yet (still have a lot of work to do). Originally, my intention was to have some "helper bolts" in some areas, like you did, but I...

    6 speed Getrag swap into a supercharged 97 SC400

The bearing will be totally dependent on the flywheel you use. I have the flywheel type designed for the V160 (2JZGTE) and I need no extra bearing all, just the one designed for 2JZGTE. Scott, on the holes you drilled at the very top, so the starter bolts clear, are you sure is necessary? I...

DIYEFI.org, FreeEMS and the future of TRUE DIY engine management

Sounds interesting, I'll have to take a look. My job has been primarily Linux performance for the last 7 years, but not in the embedded area. Does this thing run Linux, or just use Linux for the development environment?

    3UR-FE has 8 rib belt/pulleys

For those of you looking for 8 rib pulleys for superchargers, you might want to check out the accessory pulleys on the 3UR-FE (the 2007+ Tundra 5.7). Those engines have the 8 rib pulleys stock. Perhaps these pulleys could be used on the 1UZ accessories. I wonder if they did the 8 rib pulleys...

Would anyone like engine weights and measures (make a request)

Would love to see how the 2JZGTE compares if you have one. If you do, please let us know exactly what was bolted on. The flywheel alone can account for 38 more lbs!

Went head up yesterday against a Z07 Vette...

A 2 stage nitrous might work well for you. Adding a second stage which comes on at a higher rpm should have less shock then one big stage at lower rpm.

    6 speed Getrag swap into a supercharged 97 SC400

John is right, totally normal. Most Supra owners "fix" this with a high idle and/or a very loud exhaust :)

That's a really nice looking wiring harness. Is it long enough to reach to the engine? Are the wires labeled?

What does a automatic -Supra- transmission crossmember have to do with a SC400? Scotturnot has a automatic SC400 crossmember.

    6 speed Getrag swap into a supercharged 97 SC400

The tranny adapter does not adjust the tranny forward or backward from its proper position, at least on a Supra chassis. If a 2JZ and V160 in a SC work with a v160 mount, then a 1UZ and V160 should also work in a SC with a V160 tranny mount.

    6 speed Getrag swap into a supercharged 97 SC400

This is why I want to use the standard Supra clutch design, modified: An aftermarket Supra flywheel (or OEM might work) with a 1UZ ring gear grafted on, mounting bolt holes slotted a couple mm's outward, and then your choice of dozens on single clutch disc and pressure plate options, all with...

Aston Martin Vanquish V12 Motor F/S on eBay

They mention it was $38K new. I bet nobody bids on it. An $8k discount on a very expensive engine just isn't that enticing.

Buying a truck what would you get?

Good choice on the LC. I had a 1997 LX450, and it was a great vehicle. I wish I still had it. Inline six is very easy to work on, and if you ever have the urge, turbocharging should be pretty straight forward.

Quartermaster is probably easier to do, even if you have to re-line somewhere else. I would guess quartermaster does not have the ability to do kevlar. Maybe you could buy one disc (or someone's trashed disc) and send it to SBC and see what they say. The custom flywheel with Rob Smith went...

    UZFE Vs. URFE

Seems like some confusion here. GE does not equal GSE. Also, consider the early FE heads are completely different from the later (1998+) FE heads, which flow quite well. I am actually a little disappointed in the HP of the ISF V8. I was hoping for near 100/liter like the BMW and Audi...

    Project Thread Supercharged Supra

You could modify a supra (or your TRD twin disc's) flywheel to fit the 1UZ ring gear and slot the mounting holes a couple of mm's outward to accommodate the 1UZ crank bolt pattern. Then send off those discs to south bend clutch and have them re-lined with kevlar. That should make the clutch a...

    UZFE Vs. URFE

Still does not matter; each cam needs closed loop control to achieve target timing. Yes, you need only two maps (intake & exhaust), but you still need 4 PWM outputs and 4 cam timing inputs, one for each cam.
