all season tires are miserable to be honest (personal experience) go with snow tires. It'll be expensive but at least that way you wont die

it's a good thought and in the grand scheme of things, i think it will be a 'less strong spot' as the rims integrety will be far greater than what you need for the car even in the damaged place.

i've yet to drive my Lexus in the winter but my acura and BMW i put winter rims on it, they dont look pretty but they can take a beating and you dont want low profile winter tires anyways. btw for the winter (i live in good ol' snowy canada) i have X Ice by Michelin on the acura and Winter 210...

I dont know about this with a Lexus, but with my BMW, when there is anything clogged like that the dealership can plug into the computer and see exactly what's wrong. Why not take it to a dealership? I know it'll be expensive but the heart ache and time lost could be a decent trade.

Okay so i figured i'd give an update out ------ It's what happens to every lexus of this age it seems. The power steering pump exploded all over my alternator and killed it. I got a new alt as i said for around $160 i think after tax and shipping and the pump cost me $260 after all that. all in...
