I ordered a couple Garret cores to make my intercooler. They makes them in a bunch of different sizes. If i remember correctly I ordered them through percision turbo. Hope that helps.

    TT 1UZ power level issues.

Good to know. My turbos are a little large for a 4.0L. 60mm wheels. Not huge, but I wouldn't call them small.

    TT 1UZ power level issues.

Thanks guys, that is a lot of helpful info. My buddy is working on a TT 4.0L audi. He is only using a meth/h2o kit, and only putting a few PSi on boost on the motor. I will relay a lot of this info to him. I don't have an AIT sensor on the car. after a run the intercooler, and intake pipe are...

    TT 1UZ power level issues.

My intercooler is about 3 inches from the turbos. Plus I would still have to run it through the AFM. Alcohol is corrosive. I don't want to spray it on the AFM. If I do it, it will be in each runner, and I’m already adding a lot of ethanol at this point. I don’t know if it’s a benefit. That’s...

    TT 1UZ power level issues.

Thanks Fopar, Although I think that would be great for cooling, I don't think water injection in front of the turbos on my application is a good idea. I think it will pool in, or after the intercooler. I'm still running an Air Flow Meter, and I'm sure it won't do anything good for that. Plus...

    TT 1UZ power level issues.

Gloverman, what kind of results are you finding with the water/Meth injection. I have a kit, but it was a 2 nozzel system. With the side feed intake on the 1st gen 1UZ, we felt that some of the cylinders would get more then others so I never put it on. Now it is easier to get 8 nozzels, and put...

    TT 1UZ power level issues.

Chris did a good job of explianing my project/hobby. I am the tuner on the project, so I am fairly happy that I am only tuning the car for WOT, as I see how much the car changes with things like temp change. It is something I seem to be always chasing. The power has seemed to be good in the...

    TT 1UZ power level issues.

Thanks Gloverman. I have been a little unclear on what my AFR need to be with E85. A lot of the info I seem to read is running 100% ethanol, or methanol. That and I'm also running additional fuel as gasoline. I have had the car that fat before, and it didn't seem to make the same power. But if...

I'm not that frimular with mega squirt nor an I with many of the aftermarket ECU's Stevie. All this post is for is to explain the results I got with my set up.

I have been using Great Lakes Dragaway's HP calculator to estimate my HP. I have not had the car dynoed at these levels. Here is the website I have been using to calculate my numbers. http://www.greatlakesdragaway.com/index.php?page=analyzers ET is not a good determination of HP, but your...

    TT 1UZ power level issues.

This is exactly what I am talking about. You are right a good tune for W.O.T. (Wide Open Throttle) does not take that much time. Just as it doesn't take that much time with my additional injector controller. I'm not debating this. Getting an aftermarket ECU to do everything the Toyota does with...

    TT 1UZ power level issues.

I'm stating what I belive to be wheel Hp, and I think you are talking HP at the crank. I agree with you, And I'm sure an aftermarket ECU can perform all the jobs just as well as a stock ECU. The issue is programing it. spending the time to program it. purchasing all the sensors, and guages to...

    TT 1UZ power level issues.

I hear what you are saying. My definition of a street car may be different then yours, and that's ok. In the US you basically have to had DOT approved tires, lights, windshield, and seatbelts to be street legal My opinion is street legal doesn't equal street car. To me a street car is...

    TT 1UZ power level issues.

FoPar, the car is very impressive, but I don't think the car would pass emissions here in the US. I also don't know if I'd call that a street car. Just because it can be driven on the street doesn't fit the definition of street car I'm my opinion. I would call that a race car. Don't get me...

    TT 1UZ power level issues.

Thanks Cribbj, i appreciate your comments . Truth is there is on right way. My set-up has advantages, and disadvantages. Just as I'm sure yours, and every other person on here trying to build their own version of what they like does. My only goal for posting is so the person putting something...

    TT 1UZ power level issues.

Standalones are great, and work really well, for most wide open throttle applications. Racing. But you have to get them tuned. That is an additional cost. Getting them to run, start and act like toyota intended at everything other then WOT takes someone who really knows what they are doing...

    TT 1UZ power level issues.

I think you are putting to much glory in a stand alone. Putting a stand alone in my car won't change any issue that I am having. It will spend $1200, and then I'd have to change out my intake, and my second fuel system to then spend more money on correcting the stock fuel system. I don't see an...

    TT 1UZ power level issues.

I am fairly certain that I'm not getting detonation. I've ruined head gaskets, and pistons before, and We have been very carefully checking the plugs looking for any sign. I don't think you can guarantee that 100% but I'm pretty sure. I do think that the head gasket may have been compromised. It...

I wish you guys luck. I can only inform you of my results. I Haven't built an all out race car. Other then no AC my SC400 still has every factory option. It's a street car, and it's taken a lot of little steps to slowly improve it's performance. So far it's the quickest, and fastest SC400 on...
