    8 Throttle Body Intake

That's what I've found - it compromises the MAP signal. You could run a dedicated set of idle air lines into the throttlebodies though.

    8 Throttle Body Intake

I've tried it with and without the IACV and with it connected the vacuum is much worse when it opens. You are right that there are a lot more leaks but it's the apparent vacuum that the MAP sensor sees which is different - the vacuum under the butterfly is still pretty much the same. The problem...

    Fuel rail return

With vac coming from only 1 runner the fuel pressure will jump all over the place. You only get vac every 2nd revolution when that cylinder is on the intake stroke so you'd probably be better off not hooking it up.

    8 Throttle Body Intake

Yes, I had thought of that but air needs to flow both ways so the MAP sensor can see the change in pressure. I'm getting about 12 inches of Hg at idle now and I have a custom firmware for the MAP-ECU which only goes to 15 inches so I have a lot more resolution. Idle is a bit rough as I'm yet to...

    pod style air filter adapter

We squeezed one end to make it a bit more rectangular. Can't see the pic above... not displaying.

    Too much fuel

Yep - it pokes up in the middle of the plenum.

    pod style air filter adapter

I think there are some around but they're hard to find in Aus. I had a mate make one up for me with some plate and a short length of pipe from an exhaust shop. Worked a treat.

    8 Throttle Body Intake

I'm just emailing the MAP-ECU guys so I'll ask. I definitely haven't seen anything in the tuning software so far as it only seems to use TPS for enrichment on quick throttle openings.

    8 Throttle Body Intake

Bit of an update. After doing more reasearch the lower apparent vacuum is inherent with all ITB setups because the intake stroke draws in air from the other cylinders through the vacuum hoses lowering the vacuum that the MAP sensors sees. From what I've read on a few Honda forums where ITB's are...

    Fuel rail return

There's an article on Autospeed about returnless fuel systems which have the regulator in the tank t'ed off the fuel line. http://autospeed.drive.com.au/cms/A_2636/article.html

    8 Throttle Body Intake

I don't think the numbers carbontech had looked too impressive but Tony Miller's site has some dyno sheets of their setup with cams that look great. I'll be doing some mild cams in a few months and want a better throttle response which is why I'm attempting this. I had a 5 speed supra gearbox...

    8 Throttle Body Intake

I'm in the process of fitting ITB's to my Soarer whihc has been a big learning exercise so far. I bought a set of throttle bodies from CarbonTech about 18 months ago which are the kind that bolt to the lower portion of the standard intake manifold. Initially they wouldn't seal properly resulting...

Altering the MAF on a sc400 or Soarer?

Cold air is definitely your friend so the better you can seal the intake from the engine bay the more O2 is getting sucked in due to the air being denser. Have you seen the BFI on Planet Soarer? http://www.planetsoarer.com/indexfull.html#BFI Can't comment on the turbonator things but sounds...

    Fuel rail return

Don't you need the return so it can regulate the fuel pressure?

Altering the MAF on a sc400 or Soarer?

No offence Jibby but the first thing to do is take the bling intake pipe off and refit the factory item. The factory one has an air reservoir which is a tuned voume and removing it has a negative effect. Years ago in an Aussie magazine called Zoom they dynoed a car with different volumes coming...

Lightweight pulleys for 1/2/3 uz motors?

If you make the accessory pulleys slightly larger you can get the same effect as a smaller crank pulley to under-drive them, which will mean they won't consume as much power from the crank (hence "under-drive pulley kit" if you've seen any WRX stuff). You may need a longer belt and you'd have...

Soarer V8 automatic to manual transmission

No, the turbo is a 1JZ (2.5L). Hayley, have a look at the forums at www.soarercentral.com for info about converting a TT Soarer if you haven't already - heaps of info there.

    crs

This week I had a reply to an email after only a day which I thought was OK seeing as their phone line is engaged evertime I try to call. When I have gotten through on the phone they seem flat out.

    Turbo's

Would like to see some independant reviews from someone who'd driven a car with the STS setup. I wonder how good the intercooling of the return pipe would be seeing as it has no intercooler?
