    Standalone ECU Adaptronic ECU

I've just fitted a TechEdge 2J1 wideband in my car to do some tuning this weekend so I'll post my results too. The 2J1 is only AUS$253 if you don't need a display. http://www.wbo2.com/2j/default.htm

    Standalone ECU Adaptronic ECU

Have a read through Andy's installation notes for how he wired up the ISVC on Neil's blown Soarer. http://www.adaptronic.com.au/reports/1UZFE-supercharged/Installation.zip However the colours don't match up with yours and he located them at the ECU harness so I don't know if that'll help...

Bit of bad luck there but at least it was a simple problem.

    97 SC400 supercharger Project

With only 7PSI stock injectors are fine as that's what the ECU is set to use so by plugging in 315's you'll be overfuelling it if you haven't trimmed it in the piggyback. There are a lot of M90 equipped Soarers here in Aus running 6-7PSI with no changes to injectors or ECU and they run great...

my latest addition to the collection of cars ive owned!

Definitely needs to be dropped - looks like it's on tip toe :) New rims suit it really well too.

    N/A or FI?

FI for sure! Especially in a large car where you want a wide spread of torque.

    Smoking from rear of engine

Have a look around the back of the engine with a torch. If you see some white/pink residue on the engine the leak is nearby.

    Itb's

You're spot on looking at the torque curve - this is what gives you the grin when you plant it. For what you describe you'd be better off with a supercharger like an M90 or if you want more, an M112.

    Itb's

Only just saw this but I'm running ITB's which use the stock lower intake runners and I went from about 165rwkw to 178rwkw and midrange torque felt like it picked up substantially. Also my Soarer had already been converted to a 5 speed manual so the biggest difference is the throttle response...

    Smoking from rear of engine

Is it smoke or steam? There's a thick rubber water hose that feeds the car heater which joins the engine right at the back between the plenum and the firewall - in your case it would be on the passenger side. If this is leaking you'll get white steam coming up the back of the engine. This is...

    Min battery CCA?

While this isn't answering your question directly, if you're after a small battery have a look at the Optima Yellowtop D51. It's quite small and is rated at 500CCA at 0 degrees F. I've been using one in my Soarer for about 2 years. http://www.optimabatteries.com.au/PDFs/D512020D51R_082004.pdf

    Soarer Power Upgrade

Neil's number is 02 6284 3111. An m90 blower on a Soarer really livens it up or you can go all out and get an m112.

    Standalone ECU Adaptronic ECU

You can run the standard narrowband O2 sensors and it'll run in closed loop when cruising just as the standard ECU. You don't *need* a wideband but if you have one you can run in closed loop over a wider range or enable adaptive tuning so it's constantly learning and fine tuning the fuel map.

oil cooler - worth it or not

I've got one fitted but I haven't fitted the electric vale yet. My main concern is oil surge on the track as my car gets good pressure straight away because I have an inline thermostat before the oil cooler. I also don't run a remote oil filter so that's one less thing the pump needs to overcome.

    Throttle Body Conversion

I also bought mine from Carbontech but paid EFI Hardware to rectify them. Sucks to pay again but it was worth it to me. They fitted ball bearings and recut butterflies to fit each individual bore - I think about $700 all up. Call Steve Neway at EFI Hardware in Melbourne and he can give you a...

Where is the "ultimate" 1UZ thread"? Need to qualify Ross piston comment

It seems your only issue with Ross pistons is that they rattle a bit when cold - so what?
