Project Thread SC470TT (VVTi) Twin Turbo Lexus SC400 with 4.7L Toyota Tundra Engine

quick possibly off/on topic question, is it better to have the intercooler in front or behind the main radiator? I am guessing in front of? How much would that inhibit the main radiator?

    Staying with Toyota Family

Lol, easy on the grocery getters and the IS-F dude, I drive one of them (the grocery getters that is): That one is identical to mine except the door handles and wing mirrors are the same red body colour as well. 998cc 3 cylinder engine which actually thrumbs really nicely and rice or not I...

    Twin Intake for Twin Turbo

I'm pretty certain tapering is the way to go, have a look at the intakes for the Mclaren F1 engine and Ferrari's, generally all tapered. But yeah, it needs to be calculated and from the sounds of it, it is wrong on that manifold but again from the sounds of it, it wasn't tapered for reasons of...

    Blowing up the 1uz-fe

I'm still pondering whether or not I could safely run a completely stock 1UZ (bar fueling and electronics) at 500bhp at the rear wheels and drive it like I do and on a track without busting it......

    Project Thread Supercharged Supra

John, you've got everyone going! Videos damnit! :D You almost look like you are already doubting the EDIS unit on its own and you look like you are the kind of guy that wants to get everything right and perfect and I don't think you are going to be truely satisfied until you have sorted the...

    Supercharging a SC430

Just from an observers view with no mechanical backing I would've thought even 450bhp would be pushing it.....I would have thought more like 350-400 would be on the edge and only recommened with *excellent* tuning.

    Supercharging a SC430

Okay it was turbo charged but here it is: http://www.aapmotorsports.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=14&Itemid=38 There is more info on this forum about it though, I can't find it at the moment. Here is a centrifugal supercharged SC430 with a lot less power so it's running on...

    Supercharging a SC430

I'll try my best but bare in mind I am not a mechanic, this is just based on my understanding so there maybe bits that are wrong and/or bits that are missing... 1.) It seems in the 3UZ it is probably best to change the rods as they are the weak point, 500bhp is pushing the stock rods in the 1UZ...

I think that is what you are after isn't it? John, best of luck, I know this has been a long time coming not without some set backs and a lot of time and money invested so I wish you all the best!

    Twin Intake for Twin Turbo

When you say that sort of engine are you refering to the xUZ as well? If so I guess it would probably be more sensible to go with a big box type plenum that sits on the top of all 8 cylinders like Majooler did...
