There shouldn't be any voltage there, well maybe 0.005v. It sends a signal to the fuel pump ECU to halve the voltage to the fuel pump at idle. I don't bother with the fuel pump control, it's just something else to go wrong. I wire the fuel pump using a 5 pin relay. 30--- FUEL PUMP 86---OIL...

    Starter issues

I had exactly the same problem with my starter, turn the key and just got a whizzing sound and no engagement of the ring gear. The previous time I tried to start the engine, no problems. Plunger contacts kit here...

Most likely the starter contacts need replacing. Yes, FC is ground for fuel pump relay.

    Damn it!!!

The way the car suddenly lost power, I would be looking for severed wires first. particularly any wires near the drive belt/pullies.

    Have I got it right

Correct, M-rel pin is a 12v output. White/black wires are always earths.

Sorry, I was quoting Bimbo's post #10. M-Rel switches on the EFI relay. Have you seen these diagrams? http://www.lextreme.com/PDF/scecu1.pdf http://www.lextreme.com/PDF/scecu2.pdf

    Have I got it right

Thats the way I always wire them. I've done 10 now with no issues. I use relays for the fuel pump, starter circuit and main power distribution.

    Ditch my cluster?

After market guages should come with their own senders, fit them and use the stock wiring. After market gauges will work with the stock senders, but probably won't be very accurate.

1uz VVTi on Factory ECU without gearbox

Flex plates are the same as are the bellhousings. (IIRC) You just need a pre-VVTi auto 'box to bolt the T/case on to and a seperate controller e.g. http://www.spitronics.co.za/cms/gearboxmanagement.p

    89-94 1uzfe engine

Yeah, from '93 to '97 the ECU plugs/sockets are like the one in the diagram in my post above. The VVTi ECUs are different again.
