I wire the fuel pumps using a five pin 30a relay: Pin 30.......to pump. Pin 85.......to ignition 12v. Pin 86.......to engine oil pressure switch. Pin 87.......to crank wire @ ignition. (12v only when engine is cranking) Pin 87a.....to ignition 12v. Fuel pump runs when cranking the engine only...

Leave the DBW (ETCS) as is, but you need to apply 12v (via ignition/15a fuse) to the blue/yellow at the ECU. (pin 7 on the 26 pin plug) When you switch the ignition on, the ETCS will make a buzzing sound and the throttle plate will now move when the accelerator pedal is pressed.

Just apply ignition 12v to the throttle motor. The engine will work fine with a manual 'box behind it.

I think the problem is the LED. Have you tried a normal 12v bulb instead?

A '97 is a non VVTi engine but it will have an immobilised ECU. Make sure you keep the ignition key and the coil that the key goes through when inserted into the ignition plus the little amplifier box thats attached to the steering column near the key coil. The stronger rods were in the very...

You've tested the sensors but did you test the wiring between the sensors and the ECU? There could be a broken wire or two due to age/engine heat. Also, check that you have 12v on all black/red wires with ignition on.

Going manual adds another £1000 to the cost of the conversion. Hi Luke.:D

Good work. Any Idea where I can purchase some new injector plugs? I have a Spitronics ECU to wire up on one engine, but I don't really want to chop the plugs off a perfectly good VVTi harness. I can source a secondhand engine harness, but some new plugs would be nice.

I would love a polished one. Any idea of shipping costs to UK?
