OK so noone knows if they can be welded with a mig, and if so, what wire to use? Or what kind of steel they actually are? I don't think they are mild, because they don't rust.. so, what, some kind of high carbon steel or something? I'd hesitate to weld them with normal steel wire, as it rusts...

I shipped mine here through a guy in LA. He lives here in Melbourne, and goes over there every month or two, packs containers and ships them here. From memory it was about $160 freight and tax (mostly tax) on my R154.

Just out of interest, can you tell me what metal these are made of, and what wire to use to weld them with a mig?? Noone seems to be able to answer me :(

Do you have to continually polish it to stop it from dulling? I don't know of any clear coat that is going to help you at that temp either :(

My Soarer runs with the AFM unplugged. I believe it switches to rpm/tps. Stinks of unburnt fuel and the power is down.

Sweet. I actually spoke to Mark (4camman) who has done it with the CRS kit.. both he and Rod are local, so I will probably go with that. I think he said it was only $1000 with the bellhousing, slave cyl, bearings, flywheel and clutch!

RJ, talk to Peter on here about Dellow.. be careful - they made his bellhousing the wrong size. Check they have changed.

I would have thought a higher redline would be OK. Stock is 6500? The motors are pretty strong so I don't see blowing one holding it at that for that long, unless it starves oil or something. Why carb not EFI?

MP90 Screw type? Eaton/Magnusson don't make a screw, do they Neil?

No way of making that gear adjustable? And the cost is........ $xxxxxxxx ?

Cool. Would they be able to do Miller Cycle intake cams? Probably not the greatest daily driver, I'd have to research the fuel economy, but I can't see it being good :(

Jordy, can you tell me a little bit about the welding you had to do between the two metals? I'm not keen to do it myself, just like to learn about welding (I'm an amateur). What did you use, a tig? I have a mig, and have welded plate aluminium together before.. used alushield.. not sure of the...

Turbo cars just use manifold for the brakes. Unless you are hitting the brakes while you have your foot flat on the gas too, you should be ok. I have heard of a couple of people with bigger cams having problems at idle, but a vac accumulator or even just some good valves and a long hose should...

Yeah it's not hard to setup a switch on them. They are usually vac actuated. An electric valve and a boost controller type solenoid actuator would do it easy.

Peter, when the bypass is open, though, the supercharger consumes very little power. It's just freewheeling, not compressing air.

Hydrogen peroxide is NOT the same as bleach/chlorine. Peroxide is H2O2. Bleach/pool chlorine is most often sodium hypochlorite NaOCl, though pools use heaps of different chemicals now. I don't know a heck of a lot about it, but apparently peroxide can break into water and oxygen at higher...
