Mine makes about 12-13psi with a 2.5 inch pulley but its a v-9. I would think yours would make more if anything since it flows nearly twice the CFM. I make 6psi at 4500rpm and half throttle.
Some of the intercooler setups I had in the past would drop 2 to 6 psi. I'd highly reccomend ditching...
Well, to be honest I can't really say that the tune had anything to do with it. Could of just been the fact that I had been beating on it for so long and it had over 160,000 miles on it. It didn't blow up or anything, still ran pretty good actually.
My point was that I was making plenty of...
I've said it more than once but......
I ran 12psi and ran low 12's for a few years and 50-60 thousand miles with the stock motor, stock 95 ECU and a MAFTPro (for sale, ;)). This is with 440cc injectors. This also includes several 100 track runs!
It wasn't until I got an aftermarket ECU and...
Sorry to take so long to answer. I have been slacking on the forums lately.
They are cheap ebay bought fans that look much like the ones you can get from advanced auto parts stores. Dual 14 inch units. I have since put the Camry fans back on and the work MUCH better. With the ebay fans the...
Hey guys.
Got over 500 miles on it now and all seems well so far. Haven't gone WOT on it yet but have hit 6-7 psi a few times part throttle and I've had it up to about 6,000 rpm. Revs smooth and feels good.:)
Changed the oil at 200 miles and there was a bit of metal on my drain plug...
Thanks guys!
FYI, if you want to flip your intake a 94ish Camry throttle cable will work. It's only about an inch longer than the SC400 cable but its enough.
Still need to make something for my trans pressure cable.
It drives WAY better with a proper cable and a few small tuning changes.;)...
Wired this for my car but have made a new custom loom for my new motor, elimated the ECU plugs all together.
This was wired for my setup on my 95 SC400. This may need some re-wiring depending on you setup of course. It's a bit long but will fit under the stock ECU cover.
The ECU side connector...
Alright guys, got it running and drove it home finally. Started right up! Kind of scary how quickly it fired up.
Had to work out a few kinks and still have a few to work out but I'm glad its finally running and driveable. My main concern at this point is the throttle cable and trans cable...
Thanks guys. Still have a long way to go. Worked on it a couple of hours today putting things back together.
To do list:
Make an intake. Not sure about hood clearence on my earlier mock up.
Figure out how to get cables to throttle body.
Wire meth pump.
Wire water solenoid.
Install...
So I put 8-9 hours into it today. Doesn't really feel like I got much done but I guess I did.
Swapped over the headers and injectors and some other bits.
Put on my wiring harness and wired some things in that weren't yet wired.
Took care of a few issues caused by the flipped intake...
I work in a Toyota shop, the oil is pumped to 15-20 lines throughout the shop. Pull it down and pull the trigger. :p
-----------------------------------------
Some progress pics, pics of the new motor. Yanked it in about 2.5 hours. Will likely get it done tomorrow. Need to swap over a few...
So...
I took off my valve covers today and the oil I was pumping made it all the way to the cams and buckets. Everything looked like oil got to it.
:D

A thought on shaving blocks / heads and the t-belt.....
The Cometic gaskets are a slight hair thinner than the stock gaskets from what I can tell but I can't imagine that the metal gasket would compress near as much as the stock gasket.
If the block and the heads have been shaved .012 the...
Well I'm pretty sure the machine shop used plenty of lube, can smell it and it was coming out of the main oil galley in the block at one point.
I put the heads together myself and coated everything with mobil 1 supersyn. I DO NOT intend to use mobil 1 for break in its just what I had laying...
The timing and tension seemed fine. I was a little worried cause I had already read your article on it.
I was told 6 thousandths off the heads and I'm not really sure on the deck.
Thanks for the advice on oil and priming the pump. Does the inner hole of the threaded portion of the filter...

Yes just been too busy to post about it lately.
Having a machine shop build the bottom end. KT Engine Development in Concord North Carolina. This might be their first 1uz (maybe not) but they are very knowledgeable and are mentioned quite a few times in Hot Rod magazine.
Crank has been...
You could try one of these...

I might have one somewhere, older version of it. PM me if your interested and I'll see if I can find it.

Ok, thanks.
Just need to find a machine shop willing to do it I guess.
FYI, if you don't already know, the 3uz sleeves are 1.5mm to start with so I guess Toyota thought it was ok to be smaller.
