    That sounds like it could be a large intake leak. Like between the airflow meter and throttle body. Make sure it is hooked up, and no cracks.

    If you are sure you are getting fuel, but not spark, that does narrow it down. I don't have your repair manual. But with most Toyotas of that age, fuel will not be delivered unless the ignitor signals to the ECU that the ignition trigger occured. I would look closer at that distributor...

    The ECU rarely goes bad. You need a pick up signal or the EFI will not operate. Are the injectors pusling when you crank the engine?

    Well, it depends on what fits I think. They are platform cars, but the the platform may not be identical. I am sure somebody here knows. I would change the diff rather than the whole assembly myself, just so I know what I am getting

    A relay is used to switch high current with low current. In other words it is simply a switch. High current switches often arc when closed, so relays are installed to lower the arcing. Without an EWD for your car, I can not tell what is going on. But the car will not crank without a starter...

    As the piston comes out of the bore, the cylinder level lowers to fill up the gap. Each Toyota is a little different. But that is why the light is on. The piston has come out far enough and fluid has dropped that far.

    Use the engine to drive a pump that drives a blower? Why not just use the engine to drive the blower itself. Sounds highly ineffecient to me.
