Again, fear mongering. If done wrong(hand drill, or even drill press), yes, bad idea. If done right, no different than factory. As stated before, FACTORY flywheels by what you say, should also be considered MODIFIED, since they have been milled and spun using the same principles and procedures.

oh, one other thing. The RX7? Probably revving to like 12,000 RPM. If you are shooting for that kind of RPM, and you haven't gone billet, thats your own dang fault. There is a limit to cast. I would after 8,000RPM I would most recommend billet. No stock cast flywheel should be taken past...

Yes I did, that is why I asked to see inside. I want to see the mounting inside. On my setup I am going to throw my manifold with supercharger on m flowbench and use baffles to direct part of the flow to the rear.

I would like to see inside your manifold to see how you are bolting down the top plate. Plus how you going to get to those bolts inside the intake for the charger?

FYI, I just got a batch of 5 done. 3 are already spoken for I got 2 available for shipment as soon as the bolts come in next week. One of the 3 spoken for is for myself. I will be spinning it up to 8,000RPM and planning on putting down close to 500whp.

Why do you think an SFI rating is required and a shield is required for certain speeds in racing? Because STOCK flywheels can blow up. That Mazda drivetrain in the vid was most likely unmodded stock. So from now on everyone must buy only billet SFI flywheels for their DD. Anything else you...

In that case, buyer beware of ANY flywheel because they have all been machined and holes drilled through them.

I know the 1st gen cannot do dual vvti. The second gen just barely came out.

It's a combo, it does both. I did talk to my machinist today about a billet flywheel. Might look into making an actual product.

if one of these flywheels failed it would be due to a manufacturing flaw. Enlarging a few holes and machining off 1/4" off the back of the mounting surface is not going to effect the integrity. Now if I was drilling new holes, that could be an issue.
