    1uz fe Hovercraft

There are A LOT of different ECU variations for these engines. I was surprised when I started doing the research. There are a couple threads here in which the members have put together ECU model numbers to try to sort them out. I just remember that people rarely had the same ECU because there...

Help!! surging and cut at 4000 – 4200 RPM

Yeap I offered to put in another loom I had for $400. It's pretty much what I narrowed it down to being at fault. The loom on his car was in HORRIBLE shape. I had taped up 3 cracks with exposed wires near the coils and you know there are a lot more around the whole engine. I'm glad he didn't...

1UZ into my Off-Road Long Travel Tacoma

I just realized that I don't have to mount it directly onto the manifold so it's a lot easier to install than I previously thought. Installing MAP sensors isn't something I do a lot of. :D Here is what I picked up. I'll just make a bracket and run a hose to it from one of the existing manifold...

    Please welcome my son John!

Are Supras common out there? You already have a car that is rare!! :D You are going for the SUPER unique then, heh. That's exactly why I did the 1UZ in my Tacoma. Plus my little 4cyl 3RZ didn't have the oomph. But you already have a super solid engine in that car! You could probably get some...

1UZ into my Off-Road Long Travel Tacoma

All I have to do is mount the MAP sensor somewhere... preferably where the nasty black spot is on the intake manifold (where all the pesky emissions crap used to go :D). I should be able to fit it there unless anyone has any better ideas? I'm assuming I can mount the MAP sensor anywhere right?

1UZ into my Off-Road Long Travel Tacoma

My new hood is on and everything is mounted securely. ALMOST DONE. I even got the radiator hoses to size and it's ready for oil and water. I'll put coolant in it when I'm convinced that nothing is going to leak! :)

    Please welcome my son John!

That car is almost too nice to modify heavily ya know? It's more like a touring car with the automatic tranny. I think you guys need to build a race car. :) Or buy an LS400 and make a crazy sleeper like D suggested. But I have to admit there is almost nothing sweeter than seeing a Supra do a...

    Please welcome my son John!

Right on, I discovered this forum and it pushed me over the edge - to start on a 1UZ to put into my Tacoma. It was a dream until I met all these guys! No one knows it all, just some more than others but we're all here to learn. We all love Supras... someday I see myself maybe having one? I used...

    Lextreme on Mobile

I hope this is a feature you are thinking of integrating while updating to the new vBulletin 4.0? :D I wonder how much time it would take to do the mobile option. The thing is that a lot of people the do mobile online stuff have iphones that don't really need the mobile optimization but I'm sure...

    Please welcome my son John!

Hey John nice to have another Cribb around. That's a sweet car you have and it's the best color too. I've always been a fan of them. When it comes to engines the 1UZ is a hard one to resist!

Help!! surging and cut at 4000 – 4200 RPM

That's crazy. I was trying to troubleshoot a guys car earlier this year with the same problem. It was super annoying because it was intermittent and that RPM range is exactly the speed in which you want to cruise on the freeway! I know exactly what you are talking about. I brought a whole bunch...

    1uz fe Hovercraft

Hovercraft... sweeeet! Hovercraft +1UZ = where do I sign up? I want to see this. About engine management I would suggest using a standalone for sure. Yeah it seems expensive but you can almost plug and play them! I would suggest a Motec MLS computer. Any money spent on a factory harness and ECU...

1UZ into my Off-Road Long Travel Tacoma

Plenty of info on how to get a replacement pulley to go in place of they hydro fan pump pulley... "Search" is Thy Friend. Everyone probably thinks I haven't been making an progress. That isn't the case. I've been working on this thing nearly every day whenever I can make the time. So after...

    Black Friday @ Sears

Craftsman kicks butt. I've never broken a socket or wrench from that brand but I finally broke a couple ratchets after I purposely used them knowing no ratchet could take the abuse. But hey! They just give you a new one of your choice so it's all good. I have taken in 20yr old screwdrivers and...

    1UZFE Into Hilux

One big tip for when you get started. Take out the radiator and cut out the upper support that runs across the front. That way you don't have to lift the engine nearly as high when you take it in and out! You can easily weld it back in when you are done.

    New Guy from Cincinnati (pics)

Welcome and what a tight SC! You've definitely grown up when it comes to your choice in cars. :) I'm an ex rotary racer that used to be in the whole Honda scene when I was in my late teens. You get tired of driving cars without sound deadening or very much comfort OR torque! Of course I still...
