Classic ol' not staying running issue.

At a guess you had a short within that loom. Electrical tape is useless in engine looms as they get too hot. Invest in heat shrink and brush up on soldering wires together and you should be able to avoid that happening again.

    1uz over heat issues

First question is you say the fans are behind the radiator , i did 100% verify the fans are pushing thru the radiator. If the fans are behind the radiator they need to pull the air. it may be a typing error but worth making sure it's right. As an aside fans are more efficient pulling air...

    Wiring Harness Options...

Is there really 300 metres of cable in a UZ engine loom? If someone had asked me I would have said "perhaps 50-60" Way wrong. The PVC should be fine as 105 would be above normal operating temp and 120 could be with heat soak after the engine has stopped. The heat around the manifold would be...

    1uz over heat issues

Normally if a car overheats when driving it's lack of airflow but seeing it's an LS400 it shouldn't have a problem. Are the fans in front or behind the radiator? Also are you 100% sure the air is being either blown or sucked back toward the engine and not the other way. Easy enough to get...

    Dropping compression for supercharger install

Getting anything but stock parts is harder now than 10 years ago. Even stock parts from Toyota are getting thinner. If only looking at 8-10 psi I would leave the head gaskets alone and run stock compression. With the cold water you have access to you should be ale to get down to good intake...

Anyone order the rotating assembly for the 1uz from Lextreme?

I don't think any of the Lextreme products are being produced anymore as David (the original Lextreme) is no longer involved in the Forum or 1/2/3UZs.

    Rear end keeps puking

The first 5 items are custom or purchased off the Internet. The driveshaft is a local item. The transmission comes out of what you can find.

    Idle air control motor

Have you tried dismantling and overhauling your one? I'm sure there's a tutorial on that somewhere. I think it may be the Australian Soarer Forum. Perhaps Mr google can help?

    Newby , engine info please

You may find it better value to buy a proven product and pay the freight and Taxes rather than try and re-invent the wheel and spend more for (perhaps) less.

    Blocked Fuel Return Line?

As far as I know there are no check valves in the fuel return line. I've done 3 engine swaps with 1UZs and all have had open return lines to the tank. I would suggest disconnecting the fuel return line at the tank and ty purging it with air. if that is clear I'd connect it to the FPR and run...

    Newby , engine info please

I can't answer the EGR question but W58's have been fitted quite often. The transmission is a little weak for the application so use restraint on the right foot. I believe Castlemaine Rod Shop in Victoria Australia is still making adaptors. Castlemaine Rod Shop No doubt there are...

    1uz-fe oil pan?

There should be plenty of 131 sumps in Australia, New Zealand and Japan. I would think they would be very rare in the States. I'd start Googling for one.

Classic ol' not staying running issue.

With any issue after you have worked on the engine, try and keep your testing and replacement of parts to what you worked on. It stands to reason that as it worked before you worked on it the problem will be in the area you worked. Keep in mind the car is nearly 25 years old and a lot of the...

What size throttle body are you running

Gee, I'm old and it was a long time ago. 2.2 Whipple from memory.

What size throttle body are you running

I used a 100mm LS throttle body on my supercharged engine. Running 21.5psi.

Classic ol' not staying running issue.

First up, don't go replacing the injectors unless you know they are faulty. This just opens the way for more issues. You need to methodically approach the problem. Even having all the vacuum lines mucked up or unplugged the engine would probably start. These things will run well on 4...
