there's a few different options on the trans, there's the late model Tacoma R150, but there's also the ar5 which is in the Pontiac solstice. It's basically a modernized version of the r154.

a sic speed is definitely a major plus. I couldn't live without one in my Cressida.

get rid of the automatic transmission.

have you looked at using the gm ar5 transmission? it bolts up to r154 bellhousings and adapters.

use one off of a ls1. almost everything is compatable with the tps and idle valve that's on it and you can get them anywhere from 84mm to 110mm
