What's the worst car you have ever owned?

the tranny lasted on mine, actually it was the clutch that failed, but it was not really the car's fault. it pulled quite hard for 86HP, and had a good top speed. I had a LOT of fun with that car, very light.

What's the worst car you have ever owned?

Ford Probe GT (1993) Replaced everything under the hood. rear calipers like to fail, disk brakes like to wabble, engine mounts are soft as chocolate, door panels doesn't like to be used to close the door, etc etc etc. that little 2.5 DOHC offered good performances, but in winter gas mileage was...

Need 20-50hp more out of my IFZ-FE motor??

clutched M90 is your friend. just add a small 3-4 PSI pulley, you'll have your 40HP and you will probably be able to keep the stock fuel system and ECU will be able to manage this very low boost.

Would you So Cal-ers check this out

I'm not affraid you can get another 100 000miles on this engine if it has been serviced properly. I think the transmission would show signs of fatigue before the engine, because people never think of changing transmission oil.

    The Definition of Shoehorning...

that thing must be fast and burns rubber! Jibby, look at the pic, this is not a 1UZ! it's pretty bizzare, the intake manifold is perpendicular to the block

fors 4300-4500 it would be a very good deal. With the mag wheels it has. Theres always a price to pay for a clean body, this one looks perfect. IMHO, I prefer reparing stuff than doing a body job, so i prefer a high milleage car with perfect body over a low milleage rusted or bad paint body.

    Portiing the heads for performance....

I don't know. well, one thing for sure, you can use VVT-I heads and not use the VVT-I system. If you get custom cams, the flow from the heads will help and if the VVT-I doesn't work, it's just like a normal 1UZ. Maybe the best way would be to use 1st gen 2UZ heads since they are not VVT-I...

    Portiing the heads for performance....

VVT-I heads have more potential 3 angles valve job (or 5 angles) make the valve seats better and perform a better seal. you'll reduce your leakdown if you do a leakdown test. if you reduce leak down, you get more power from the energy you release in the explosion.

won't the supercharger overheat with all this pressure?

    340i dyno vids

there might be a mess in those numbers. you're doing about 320-330lbs/ft (flywheel) of torque from a 4 liter Non VVT-I motor. even the VVT-I 3UZ is not able to achieve this. I suspect an over-rated engine from the dyno. If not, man, you've got an amazing motor.

    Supercharging AND Turbocharging

even if you put 1000PSI before the supercharger, the supercharger will act like a big wall to your airflow going to the engine. if I was you, i'd put a clutchpulley on the blower with a pressure sensor in the manifold. the blower will push your 7-8 PSI, once the turbo is able to push more than...

    1UZ-FE Pros and Cons

the push-rod/rocker assembly can't handle more RPM safely. The problem is not that it wears, it breaks. that's why you never see push-rod engines goes more than 10 000RPM. R/C engine is different than a normal engine. every part is very very small. a long push-rod will be afflicted with...

    dying Rack and Pinion?

This thing happened to me when winter started, now that it's getting hotter it's starting again. When i try to turn the car, my rack seems to "lock" and it's very hard to turn. and it's not locking on all the turning radius, only at a certain position. on 1 full turn wether left or right, it...

    1990 LS400 Vs. 1990 Infiniti Q45

Q-45 are rust buckets here. Maintenance cost is awesome. I wanted to buy one before buying my first lexus, I soon changed my mind. Reliability isn't as good too.
