Building custom manifold for M112 supercharger on first-gen 1UZ

Great progress & pics. Looks like it's really coming together! So good to see new projects taking shape with these UZ motors.

    UZFE Family Compatibility

Whaddya know.....found it! Don't take any of it as gospel. David (Lextreme) was a little optimistic on some of this stuff being compatible/interchangeable.....

    1UZ vvti supercharger manifold

Rod, yes, TRD brought it out for the VVTi motors, but IIRC it was "flipped" and it had the supercharger on bottom, down in the Vee, with the manifold (and possibly W2A intercooler) on top.

    Greets from Austria

Welcome to Lextreme Tom; that's a very nice SC. We're not as active a forum as we once were, but there's still a lot of knowledge here.

Steve, which generation AEM is it? Gen1, 2, or the Infinity?

It's too late. 1990 LS400 drivetrain into 1983 Celica parts car

500 is very doable with boost. My first 1UZ put 500 to the flywheel with 22 psi of supercharger boost and mistimed cams. Both the block and the heads had been shaved/decked and that greatly affects cam timing - something we didn't think about when it was shooting flames out the exhaust on the...

How do you like your AEM, and which generation is it? Is the around town driveability OK?

Building custom manifold for M112 supercharger on first-gen 1UZ

We had a member here long ago that did something similar with reusing the chopped lower manifold and his fabrications were functional and I believe he sold a few. Think his name was Jordy? Rod might remember. So what you're doing has sorta been done before and it worked, although Jordy didn't...

Hey Steve - good to see you back! Sometimes I think it's just Rod & me who are still around :)

    1gz fe v12 fitted to a Navara

Hey Black Rat, great to see a 1GZ project nearing completion. Several here have started them but no one (AFAIK) has ever finished one. Try PM'ing MitchP or Crambo to see if they have better resources than what we have on here. Please keep us updated on your progress!

Congrats on sorting it out and thanks for updating the thread with the cause!

1UZ-FE NON-VVTI front facing performance intake manifold

Very nice looking intake and I would think if it fits the 2UZ, it would have no issues with the 3UZ. There appears to be 2 different intakes in your photos, however? One with short runners and one that is much taller and there would definitely be hood clearance issues with the taller one :)...

    Alek Projekt E36 V8 4.0 1Uzfe twin turbo GT30 E85 22psi

Beautiful work! It's obvious you're no stranger to fabrication. Did you go with new rods and have you dynoed yet? I'd be careful if you kept the old rods as they're powdered metal and are known to let go under high boost & rpm.

    GS400 Brake pedal soft.

Thanks for the followup; what did you do to sort it? I had the opposite problem - the brake pedal in my Supra was too hard, and a new brake booster sorted that out.

max supercharge boost for a stock 3uz fe?

IIRC, most people who have put boost into stock junkyard engines have been able to get away with 5-10 psi; after that, inlet air temps become an issue unless you're running an intercooler. JustenGT8 was the king of boosted junkyard motors and could share a lot more if he was still active, but if...

    This month’s progress

Frank, I just read about your exploits at the Texas Mile on GT40s.com. Well done! Be careful boosting the UZ above 20psi as a number of us have had the heads lift above that magic number. There are dedicated, built drag race engines that have gone higher, but I don't know if many of us have been...

    Catastrophic Failure, 2uzfe. Rebuild questions

As Kelvin said, make sure you have oil pressure first before you actually run it. The UZ oil pumps are not known for their ability to self prime.
