    VVT heads on non VVT

I said running 280 degree or larger cams starts to put VVT in a lose/lose situation and it is worse with a turbo installation. You may not run cams that large but other people do. Cams that large or larger are readily available. I have some 330 degree cams if you would like some. They do...

possibility of modifying existing flywheel - cruiser

The flywheel is a casting (steel or iron) and welding will weaken the metal, welding also sets up internal stress and with re drilling the flywheel will be prone to cracking and eventual failure. Get a billet steel flywheel machined up. It will cost a dollar or two but a flywheel that has...

A lot of thought, effort and $$ went into that vehicle. If it has pups, and Fran wants to give away one of the litter, I know where there is a good home ! :smlove2:

GM did build a 32v all alloy engine fitted to the 'vette quite a while back. Still much sought after. Don't know if it was 'for the masses' though. The LT5.

    1UZ n/a engine dyno results

No - no scavenge from cam box/heads. The only problem I can see on a wet sump engine is provision for breathers. Our engine is sealed and breathes through the main scavenge pump.

    1UZ n/a engine dyno results

Std cam box is 77mm, ours are 39mm base - 50mm bumps for gears. All so they will stay under original body line and not interfere with aero to rear wing.

    W2A Vs. Water/Meth Injection

While methanol has a large intake air cooling affect, it is not as good as a well designed a/a or w2a intercooler. The data log is from a 2.2ltr blown VW running straight methanol and no intercooler. Boost is around 20/25psi. Intake temps 50/75 deg C. A well designed a/a intercooler can...

    Power To Weight

The biggest thing the Fiat in the picture has going for it is TRACTION. Traction seems to be a forgotten word, yet it is just as important as bhp and weight.

560gm is std WRX Sti piston and pin, 660gm is std SBC 5.7" rod. Have not weighed std UZ piston or Argo rods, weights should be ballpark for the example. Anything you can do to reduce weight, while maintaining or preferably increasing rigidity, will give a performance benefit. That applies to...

The following loads are not meant to be accurate and do not allow for the elliptical motion of the rod shank. They are based on a 560gm piston and 40% of a 660gm rod with std 1uz bore and stroke. They are only an indication of the loads involved. 1- To increase torque from 270lb/ft to 540lb/ft...
