Building custom manifold for M112 supercharger on first-gen 1UZ

Still wotking on this. Ported the factory lower to join all the ports together into one opening. Working with waterjet guy to cut out all the pieces. Looks like it will work real good, Intercooler is roughly made. Just needs welding of the end tanks and fittings. More pictures soon.

85 pickup - 1UZ swap with R150 transmision, MS3X stand alone ECU and 112 supercharger.

Started on the engine wiring today. Thanks to Kelvin's videos's I have the wiring well in hand!! I basically got all the extra wires identified and pulled from the factory harness (loom!) I left the extra wires in the main bundle so I can re-purpose them for new items or things I need to...

Building custom manifold for M112 supercharger on first-gen 1UZ

To be clear I am not cutting through the lower as much as removing the top inch or so of the runners where they turn up to the stock upper location. The ports look like an unusual shape but they are all the exact same surface area and length since the manifold is a mirror image from front to...

Building custom manifold for M112 supercharger on first-gen 1UZ

I figured its been done a lot before like this. Just wanted to make sure it was sucessful and to learn the "dos and don'ts" early so I can avoid problems. Airflow is a concern I am trying to address. At this time I have reserved 1/2 to 3/4 bellow the intercooler for an air gap above the...

    Factory exhaust manifolds,

I think the SC400 ones will flow a little better. Neither are great but when your a tight as you are even the headers would be a comprimise.

Building custom manifold for M112 supercharger on first-gen 1UZ

Ok guys..for those not following my build thread I am installing a 1st gen 1UZ motor in my 85 Pickup truck. I've decided it needs to be supercharged and I am using an Eaton 112. I'can't really afford to buy a manifold from down under so I am making one with the help of my local water jet...

85 pickup - 1UZ swap with R150 transmision, MS3X stand alone ECU and 112 supercharger.

Finished my cad drawings of the manifold today. May add a few rounded edges and clean up the port opening a little but the majority is done. The yellow layer is a composite spacer. I might make it thicker and replace the alumium second layer. I designed the manifold to work with or without...

85 pickup - 1UZ swap with R150 transmision, MS3X stand alone ECU and 112 supercharger.

Lots of planning is being done but not a lot of hands-on work. I've started working on the intercooler box and manifold for the supercharger. I have enough hood clearance on the truck by the looks of things to allow a 2" thick intercooler. I had bought the heater core unit as an experiment...

85 pickup - 1UZ swap with R150 transmision, MS3X stand alone ECU and 112 supercharger.

My Intake is back from the machine shop. Basically, I hacked the top half off the lower manifold with my angle grinder and had my local machine shop deck the manifold level with the bosses for the injectors. I was planning to weld a plate on top of this and then build a box on top of that for...

85 pickup - 1UZ swap with R150 transmision, MS3X stand alone ECU and 112 supercharger.

Ordered a bunch of stuff to build the exhaust system and related it to the fabrication of the intake manifold. Also started working on the front of the motor and reworking the required plumbing for the power steering and oil filter. used the banjo bolt style fitting from the SC line and the...

2uz to R151 swap, need clutch

I am told a Nissan Sklyline clutch will also work. I have one here anf the pressure plate is the same size as mine and bolts to the flywheel I have. Dowels are in a different place but it had hole to clear mine but not tight enough for my liking and will put too much force on the bolts...

85 pickup - 1UZ swap with R150 transmision, MS3X stand alone ECU and 112 supercharger.

The motor is installed in the truck and I am working on motor mounts and positioning. Supercharger and Intercooler: The supercharger will need to go lower to clear the hood. I had planned to use the stock cobra style intercooler but its simply too tall and also very pricey to purchase. The...

85 pickup - 1UZ swap with R150 transmision, MS3X stand alone ECU and 112 supercharger.

Made some progress in the last couple of days. Got the R150 Transmission mocked up under the truck and sitting on the cross member. Going to make a new cross member/skid plate but need to get the motor mounts built and the drive shafts set up. Lots more room than with the Ford motor. Should...

2uz to R151 swap, need clutch

3SGTE clutch!! That would be a MR2 turbo motor. lots of stage 2 clutch options available and is an exact fit. My transmission came out of a buggy and the clutch was toast from mud. I just ordered a replacement on ebay.

85 pickup - 1UZ swap with R150 transmision, MS3X stand alone ECU and 112 supercharger.

Thanks Kelvin! Watched just about every video you've made. Might need to source some stuff from you at some point although I actaully work for the local Toyota distributor so anything still in stock is not normally a problem.
