    O2 Sensers 4 or 2

I have an early 1UZ as well, '92/'93 which is just an OBDI. Seems to run just find without the rear O2's, just throws a code.

Couple of short videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i43wRTL74Qs http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TWjF28C5860 Hoping to get some videos outside of the car as well.

Michigan 1UZ - MkIII Supra swap

Scales are +/- 10 pounds and I was as close to a half tank of fuel as I could get again so even being a couple gallons off on the high side would be 16 pounds or more (2 or more gallons).

Michigan 1UZ - MkIII Supra swap

I finally had some time today to take a short video of the new exhaust. Unfortunately, either due to the garage opening behind the camera or the camera's microphone itself, the tone is much lower than it is in real life but it gives a general idea of how the car sounds now...

    obd1 1UZ-FE to MA71 wireing how too

To follow on with what Jake stated. The information I posted was for my wiring on my '87 which has now been driven for two days in multiple conditions (around town, highway, drive-thru....) without issue. My wiring included more than just the basic "7-wires" setup since I also wired it to...

Michigan 1UZ - MkIII Supra swap

Fixed the lighting issue! Drove it around town for a few minutes to run a couple of errands, what a blast. Just need to put the interior back together now and put the ECU back in the glove box so it isn't just hanging there in the passenger side. Took everything out while troubleshooting and...

Michigan 1UZ - MkIII Supra swap

Oh yeah, forgot to mention I also have stiff low speed steering as well (still air in the lines plus a leak that isn't helping) which I'll be looking into solving shortly as well as an off throttle stall when stopping however tapping the petal a couple of times seems to solve this issue if I...

Michigan 1UZ - MkIII Supra swap

I have good news and I have bad news. The Supra is back from the exhaust shop, sounds amazing and the combination of the R154 and 3.9 rear seem to match the engine pretty well. I won't know until I really get to drive the car for a bit longer. Just driving the car from the shop to home was...

Michigan 1UZ - MkIII Supra swap

Supra has been trailered over to the exhaust shop. I'm keeping my fingers crossed the shop will have it done next weekend once I'm back from IL and I'll pick it up on Saturday. For now here are a couple of pictures of the car all buttoned up and on the trailer as well as a short video of it...

Michigan 1UZ - MkIII Supra swap

Supra is headed into the exhaust shop tomorrow to finally get the exhaust fabbed so I can get the car on the road. Unfortunately I'll be out of the state during next week and the shop does not have an estimated completion date. I am hoping when I return I'll be able to go pick it up and drive...

    obd1 1UZ-FE to MA71 wireing how too

Adding my contribution to this thread. This wiring information is from my conversion using a 1987 Supra Turbo (7M-GTE) MkIII and installing a 1992(1993) SC400 1UZ-FE w/R154 transmission and the 1993 ECU. This is a rough draft and some information still needs to be filled in, however it should...

Michigan 1UZ - MkIII Supra swap

Funny you mention the RX-7 cooler. That is the world I come from. I use to own two FB's (check out some of my videos at youtube under my siliconoddity username as well as searching for alien_rx7 at rx7club.com) and both had been converted from the 'beehive' oil 'warmer' Mazda temporarily went...

Michigan 1UZ - MkIII Supra swap

Thinking about adding some more cooler by way of the oil cooler from the 7M-GTE, just have to get an adapter and thermostat, but that is later. Just trying to get the exhaust done and get the car on the road. The oil cooler will remain installed and just be capped off for now.

Michigan 1UZ - MkIII Supra swap

Thanks Peewee. I notice at idle, the car takes some time before the gauge reaches about 1/3 of the way up the scale and then settles at that spot and even without the fan running remained steady for some time. The hood was off so there may have been plenty of heat transfer to the open air...

Michigan 1UZ - MkIII Supra swap

Nearly complete This weekend was an eventful one. The engine bay wiring was completed and loomed, the e-fan was tested although the temperature still needs to be independently verified, the Spectre 3" MAF adapter was installed, and the hood was re-attached. The front interior was also...

Michigan 1UZ - MkIII Supra swap

I finished the wiring of the 1UZ temperature sensor as well as the e-fan today. Just need to verify the temperature is within a safe operating range once the gauge indicates the system is at operating temps. I also wrapped up looming all of the remaining loose wires in the engine bay today and...

Michigan 1UZ - MkIII Supra swap

After some testing today I agree with your comments Chris. As sheepish as it may sound, I think it may be a grounding issue. I purchased an Autometer gauge and sensor today with the hopes of just replacing the 1UZ sensor with the Autometer sensor since they're both 1/8" NPT. However, the...

Michigan 1UZ - MkIII Supra swap

Finally got around to taking out both sensors as well as doing some investigative work in trying to cross reference the specs of each sending unit in the two cars. Using Standard's catalog I was able to come up with the following information pictured below. As one will observe, these units are...

Michigan 1UZ - MkIII Supra swap

That's the one we're talking about. I know I have the correct wire connected since as soon as I disconnect it the gauge drops to zero but while connected it goes straight past the hot zone and pegs at the top. When I pulled the bolt/plug there at the thermostat housing I could stick my finger...
