There are a few points which need to be clarified.
1) You set the AF ratio map, the ECU then changes the Fuel map to match.
2) The ECU does NOT use a lambda sensor to measure the A/F ratio. It uses an A/F ratio meter, The Autronic Analysers are compatible. Most meters are NOT compatible for...
yeah 3.5ms should be fine, its a pretty standard number. Coil price seems about right.
I think a few of people may be interested in the 2uz COP setup if you could get it at the right price. Normal Toyo pricing would put it out of reach.
I think the bosch option is the easiest, its compatable with everything and more importantly it works.
If you can keep the coils near the stock location it will help a lot, then you can use stock ignition leads etc.
If you use the bosch 124 ignitor you will need an ECU that sets the dwell...
I have used Honda coils before with no problems, not that exact model though AFAIK.
Are they suitable for your application? They are designed for CDI use (not inductive),if you try and use them for a normal inductive setup you could well fry your ignitors.
You will have no problems with the...
They are all in pretty much the same area. Look at the ignition coil on the top left hand side of the Idle Air control valve at the top front of the inlet manifold. They are behind/under the ignition coil, you will need to remove the coil to see them.
There are two 2 wire temp sensors, green...
No they won't. The ECU will stop sending the fire signal because it needs the feedback signal from the stock ignitor to check thats everythings OK.
I can't imagine it would be too difficult to make a feedback signal. If anyone needs it I will look into it.
I"m about 50% but I do believe there may be ones from a camry which are the same part No. LS400 or SC400 will work but they have slightly different connectors. So if you get one from these you might want to get the connectors as well.
I'm going from memory here (7 years) so if someone has...
You should be able to piggyback the SM4 and still retain full auto use. You will probably get some error codes poping out which shouldn't be hard to sort out 1 by 1.
Either that or ditch the stock ECU altogether and run a seperate controller for the auto as well.
If your ECU has the capablility to do full sequential then use it.
Also don't forget to sprinkle the valve covers with fairy dust and snake juice. Also don't forget to fill you wires with smoke or failing that positively charged electrons.
why???? and no it didn't work OK...just because the engine turns over doesn't mean its running OK.
Stripping down the dizzy isn't going to tell you anything. It doesn't have any sensors in it.
Set it up properly and the engine will run properly. I would have thought this was pretty basic...
Witzl,
harware wise the SM4 is probably capable or just off, but AFAIK the software doesn't support it. You may be able to do in an agricultural sort of way but I wouldn't recommend it or even try it.
The best bet is to have them cleaned and flow tested.
I have had them vary from 203cc/min to 223cc/min for ls400 and crown injectors.
And 215cc/min to 248cc/min for LS400 and sc400 injectors.
You don't need facts or figures to know thats its crap. You can tell instinctively by looking at it. Or by doing some very simple math.
The device will only perform 2 functions.
1) It will make your wallet lighter.
2) It will restrict your air intake, which will in turn restricts the power...
Well i've only ever been in this situation 3 times and never had a problem. Although I was tuning the engine so to speak in real time as it warmed up, so they weren't running rich for very long.
Do you have the facility to do this? You need a good A/F ratio meter and a good dyno. If your ECU...
Any tuner should be able to sort your tuning out close enough without any problems.
If they can't they are not a real tuner. Be carefull as there are a lot of "fake" tuners out there.
Post your setup and hardware. I may be able to come up with a base map for you.
Be aware that it takes quite...
