Yes they are the best value/$$$ you will ever find.
Despite what autronic claim you can use them with the Autronic ECU, although some signal modification is required.
To do it preoperly is very expensive. Keeping the airbag takes a lot of custom machine work to make the slip rings/connections and stay away from the factory stuff. And depending on how much factory stuff is on the steerin wheel you may not have room. Just putting them on the steering column may...
When you buy an Autronic ECU from an authorised dealer the instructions will tell you how to make your own base map. Using another persons map is stupid.
The two coils are similar.
When used on the Denso ignitor there isn't much difference between the two. The only gain is that the bosch coil is lighter on your wallet and easier to obtain.
Yeah that person had no idea what they were doing. I wouldn't be suprised if there was some silicon floating around in the coolant passages somewhere.
A thin continous bead is all thats required.
ED,
If you want I can pick it up and have a play to work it out. The only wiring diagrams available would be in Japanese, but it may be enough. This is of course if you could locate some.
I did have one somewhere but I have no idea where it is now.
There is no fixed answer.
The sizing required depends totally on the design of the frame.
There has been at least one company that started to make a 1uzfe trike, i'm not sure if they ever finished one though.
Here is Australia (and the domain of standalone ecus) it is going to become necessary in the future to do an emmsions test if you have modified the engine management in any way. Passing the tests isn't that hard if you have a decent ECU and tuner.
I think the next generation of ECU's should...
There is no substitute for sequential injection. For passing emmisions standards (which is going to be an issue in the near future) it is a must for the low to middle range loads.
due to the valving in the auto it is necessary to have both the shifter in 1st and the solenoids in the gear position of 1st gear to obtain engine braking in first gear.
I think you will struggle to find any toyota auto transmission which can handle that much power.
Although having typed that it is torque which kills transmissions not power.
Even if you upgraded all the clutch packs and changed the valve body to limit slip on the clutches I suspect you would...
They are pretty close, although i'm not sure they use an electronic accumulator. I think they have the older style mechanical one. The shift/torque solenoids should be very similar, of course the gearboxes may have different speed sensors or other sensors which could throw the logic out a bit...
Toyo ECUs generally aren't easily modified. They usually have at least two processors and sometimes 4. This makes it very difficult to know what you are modifying.
Also if they use eproms to store data they are proprietry and don't lend themselves to being replaced like other ECUs do.
Piggy...
Do you guys have Jaycar in NZ?
If so go there and buy their speedo corrector kit.
It will convert the signal to hall and give you a divide/mulitply function on the number of pulses kit no KC5380
What boost are you running?
The stock ignition in proper condition will run a bit of boost no worries up to 8 or 9 psi shouldn't be a problem. The dual ignitors/dizzys provide plenty of time for the coils to charge at high revs where you will need the energy under boost.
If there's no...
They make good ECUs. They are part of the 3 I only use. Autronic, Motec, EFI technology. If you want to spend that kind of money then also look at Motec.
That install and tune money is because the standard price doesn't include all the ECU functions or the wiring harness. Same with the Motec...
