    Crank trigger question

Is adjustable really needed? Sure it sounds brilliant at first thought... but on second thoughts.... It could be a real hassle and nightmare if it slipped? How secure would it be? Would it not be easier to just supply the wheel with maybe a number of embossed marks at the centre where the user...

    getting an engine in europe?

Ok, I'll get back to you at the end of the week hopefully with some news. If you can track down the Dutch posters on the thread and any other interested parties as if I locate 2 or 3 then you will save on shipping. Cheers Mark

    newbie after twin turbo advice

You can get most of the bits (excluding the wheel) from a US Mustang Breaker on ebay for about US$80. Not bad eh? You can mount the 2 coil packs on the bulk head (firewall) and just run the ignition leads down the channels out of the way. You only need the vrank position sensor plus a TPS...

    Veyron Engine

I think TVR (RIP) have been mounting alternators off the crank end of the engine on their speed 6 Al Melling engines for years. M

For those with twin turbo 1UZ's

Dave it looks excellent. However can I suggest something. If you spin each of the blowers through 180 degrees along the horizontal axis then you can have the air inputs facing the sides of the engine bay allowing you to easily duct cool air in from the front and sides. The additional...

    newbie after twin turbo advice

Mate just google Megasquirt to their site. I was a bit put off then realised the UK importer lived only 10 miles from me so we met up for a beer and he was very helpful. He talked me through it all and I'm pretty confident to give it a go. If I can't do it there are plenty who can build it...

That's why I was telling you about Megasquirt and EDIS as it's very capable, cheap and more than enough on your set up. Give it a go. M

    getting an engine in europe?

Thomas, As I said I've been looking around a lot for a rear sump engine and I've found loads of engines available, but most are front sump LS400. These are just from looking aroung UK for sale internet sites and ebay. I've got a list so can get back in touch with them. I found 1 LS400 basic...

If funds are tight go Megasquirt. You can build it yourself even cheaper. Then all you need is a Ford EDIS 8 (very cheap on Ebay) and a 36-1 wheel. Easy-ish and ok to 20psi so should cover all you need. M

    Veyron Engine

I'm genuinely suprised on how small the 2 throttle bodies are. Blimey each feeds 4 litres and 500bhp and they're tiny! M

    getting an engine in europe?

Hi Striker, I can get you an engine probably for between GBP300 (Euro450) and GBP400 (Euro600) at the very most plus shipping to you. The chances are it will be a front sump from an LS400 and probably wont have the alternator, power steering or air con. As long as that's not a problem...

For those with twin turbo 1UZ's

Just asking as I'm putting a 1UZ into a 944. Actually if you still have the 944 with engine in situ I'd appreciate you taking a couple of measurements for me? My 944 engine has gone and I should have taken the distance of the crank centre line to the top of the alloy cross member. It's a...

Drifty, Just get underneath with a tape measure. It will save a load of work. Measure from the point where the bellhousing and block meet (back of block-front of bell) and then forward to the rear of the cross member. Also measure from the block/bell point to the front of the crossmember and...
