    Matts Surf

I finished off the thermostat housing today. It's hard to get a good pic in the dark with a flash.

I'm sure that has caused more then a few grey hairs. Most engines have a quick process for relearning the idle, I havn't come across one for the 1UZ though.

Were you using the Surf auto? There is a auto ecu under the interior fuse box, but the only relevant wire I can see is the G/B wire for the speed signal.

    getting sick of work

I cant Bring myself to let someone else fix things for me, I think I have spent too much time seeing what goes on in dealerships, its much easier and cheaper to buy a book and fix it yourself. I never work on weekends, you end up burnt out if you don't have enough time to yourself. There is...

It must have been an early model with a separate engine and auto ecu. That's why I bought the loom from Scott, to save time :D:D I am going to use those 2 plugs for as much stuff as possible I like things neat and simple.

    getting sick of work

If these people can't work it out for themselves, should they really be doing the job? And what happens when it doesn't work, how are you going to fix something if you don't understand what it does. There are plenty of harness you could buy, reverse engineer and start selling, but you will soon...

    Matts Surf

The engine and auto wiring is standalone,I prefer it that way. I have separated the transfer to 4WD ecu wiring out of the surf loom, it will still plug in under the dash. I have only had a quick look at the diagram, but the only other input I can see that the 4WD ecu needs is a speed signal...

I took the easy way out and got Scott to mod the loom. Just need to hook up the transfer wiring.

Thanks mate. I'm using the Lexus auto, it is the same as the Surf auto, the transfer bolts up with minor output shaft and speed sensor mods.

So What's the Difference Between a Bolt & a Screw?

Bloody Kiwi's, coming to Australia with their gumboots and velcro gloves.

They're turpentine mangoes, ok for making chutney, but not much good for eating straight off the tree, although the bats seem to like them.

I know how you feel about the weather, lucky you don't have mangoes raining on top of you as well :D

So What's the Difference Between a Bolt & a Screw?

LOL, I will never look at a bolt or screw in the same way again :D Given that theory, would a bolt that is cross threaded suddenly be transformed into a screw, as it is cutting its own thread?

I got the Rocker covers and manifold stripped and cleaned up ready for powder coat. I was surprised how clean the engine is inside, I must be too used to seeing hard carbon'd Alloytecs. I gave the injectors a quick clean as well, so I can send them out to be cleaned/tested.

So What's the Difference Between a Bolt & a Screw?

I always thought of it as. A screw has an internal driven head, e.g. philips, flat, torx, spline drive. and a bolt has an externally driven head, e.g. hex head. But then Allen drives don't fit, because I would consider them a bolt.
