I got one of the fuel rails polished today, it took a bit longer then I was expecting, for a billet rail they have some pretty rough castings in them. I also got some better pics of the manifold ribs.

It sounds like valve stem seals to me.

I ended up getting the gaskets from Bullet, for the same reoccurring theme. I sent out 3 emails, Bullet replied straight away, I still haven't heard from the other 2. Plus they supply genuine gaskets for almost half the price I could buy them from Toyota, at trade price. Toyota told me most of...

    Techflex

I came across this site last nite. http://www.wirecare.com/Braided-sleeving.asp They have all of the Techflex products at a reasonable price. Insultherm sells in Australia for $50 per meter, you can get it from the states for $13.00 for 10ft  They also have this fabric heatshrink. It...

    Techflex

That is some neat work  I like how he has used heat shrink over the connectors, I am guessing he uses 4:1 for that. Most of the fun for me is in doing the job, and at the price of this stuff I can afford to have a few goes at it. I'm not worried about replacing the connectors, new ones...

    Techflex

I don't think I want to take the risk of it melting, and the look of the Insultherm is starting to grow on me. I think the only way to do it properly is to remove the connectors, and tape the harness first, looking at their catalog pics I think they may have used it over the top of conduit...

    Techflex

That's not quite the reply I was expecting. Do you think the proximity to the exhaust had anything to do with it? Or does the Ferrari run unusually high under bonnet temps? The Insultherm doesn't look like it expands very much, so I would have to use a size big enough to pull the entire...

I was thinking of using the F6 so I don't have to unpin all the connectors, they feel brittle enough as it is. Do you have any pics of it installed? I am having a hard time finding anything done other then PC wiring and audio cables.

Has anyone had any experience with Techflex F6? I am looking for something to wrap the harness in, that's a bit neater then old school conduit.

I finally got enough of a break in the rain to put a few bits on, I guess I will have to wait for the sun.

Where does everyone buy gaskets from in AUS? I have tried all my normal suppliers, and the best they can come up with is a full gasket set. The only other ones I have seen are the over priced Ebay ones and the suspect quality Ebay ones from the states, Bullet also list a few misc gaskets and a...

Have you considered a Maserati, like the Merak? Not as smooth as the Mangusta, but it has some potential.

I got the bits back from powder coat today, it's too bad it was raining, I can't wait to see them in the sun. I ended up using High Octane Performance Coatings in Rydalmere, after sending out 5 emails to different places, they were the only ones that replied...

What have you owned up until your UZ "Beast"?

First car was a 68 VW floorpan and a Rat beach buggy body, my dad brought it home when I was 13, and told me if I wanted to leave school and be a mechanic I had to build a car out of it. It ended up registered 12 months later with a Subaru EA82. The first time I drove it it nearly flipped over...

    one for sideshow

I can understand where Sideshow is coming from, I try not to help people on fourms any more, they either dont take the advice that is given to them, or like in a recent case, they edit their posts so what you said makes no sence. Out of interest what does the speed sensor do in a 1UZ, all my...
