Thanks for the tip! - that was new to me (not much is!). I was going to get a Harmless Freight coolant pressure tester too and see if its blowing out a cracked fitting or something too.... So I've cooked this thing hard twice now... any easy way to tell if I hurt something? bore scope...

Nice Job... Some similarities... I have a gutted 91 LS, and IIRC its at around 3000lb... I corner weighted it, but can't find my notes. I stuck with the auto though. I also have Audi/vw's, and a iMac/iPhone! (but Miller welder and Buckmark pistol ;)

yeah, but frankly the 1uz doesn't make that much power. For that car a 20v 4age would be much more satisfying. I'd like to put the current 268hp camry/Rav4 engine in my LS400 which would improve weight distribution and gain hp in the process. (though I'm trying to find a vvt 1uz for now)

hmm. More power to you so to speak, but I wouldn't do it. balance will be all screwed up if you care about handling at all. I late model camry4 would be a huge upgrade and lighter.

There's wiring everywhere, down both rails.. Depends on what you need to power and based on what conditions - Might be able to tap an existing hot wire in the trunk.

Got some sort of cooling leak and smoked my 91uz this last weekend racing. Would it be a total pain to swap a complete vvt engine and trans in with ecu and cluster?

ah, good. I dumped my rears but kept the front. My fuel economy is atrocious though, and its losing me races. The MAF is still working, and I'll replace the front o2s a "hail mary" to see if that helps. It runs great, but at about 7mpg which ain't enough (it is running 10hrs at a time full out...

Well, its possible that those wires are long gone - I've eliminated all the non-essential wires and maybe whacked this one accidently..... hence my question on where to find the fn on the ecu that I could hook a test light up to..
