Hi Riley, that's for my ute, and I guess since it is a ute and not a 'sports' car the guys at FMG were ok with it. Plus I have a house, two cars, a couple of motorbikes, etc with them and was ~26 when I first insured the 1uz-hilux with them 4 years ago.

Well, the car is going in for its exhaust tomorrow, so fingers crossed it all goes smoothly.

Beg or borrow some money Riley and get it certified, the cost of a ticket for no WOF or reg and being ordered off the road would likely cover the cert... don't hash it up for others! It should fly through cert any way. Muzz

Nice work, it'll be great fun. We could probably get the 7 on the road in the next few weeks, but the cert can't happen till we get all of the cage related requirements sorted (lots of hassles). It doesn't help either that the people we've got to see for that are on holiday till the 15th!

Howdy all, Here's a quick update on project RX7. The brakes and clutch are in and bled. The drivers side exhaust flange had to be modified to fit the clutch slave cylinder properly, no real hassle, just couldn't find a slave cylinder with the feed and bleed at the top so extended the header...

haha too true John, we've already had a serious cost overrun, I think twice the original budget should cover it... it's the little things that you don't factor in... everytime I go down to the engineering shop to buy a couple of bolts, it usually costs around $100 or so by the time you factor in...

Yeah it sure is, and if you search for some of the hilux installs on Lextreme you'll see that there are a few people that have switched theirs around no problems at all. That would sort out your Idle control valve problems.

Howdy Kyle, I guess that the series 1 - 3 are first gen, the series 4 - 5 are second gen and the series 6 (batmobile) onwards are third gen, judging by the body shape, but I'm no rotary expert, I just like the idea of replacing the oily, stinky roundy roundy engines with up down 8 cylinder ones!@

the guy is obviously a muppet, bringing fuel lines into the cabin is a super big no no as far as I'm concerned...

it's alive!! Got the car running sweetly last night, it sounds really good (loud but good). Had a couple of problems with a loose pin on an ECU connector which meant it wasn't getting crank signal, but once I sorted it, she purred like a kitten. Here's a couple of pics of it running, and yes...
