    Crower Rods

Update: According to Crower, the rods hold 300hp a cylinder. I believe that you can get them in H-Beam or I-Beam, I sent another email to confirm. I will get I-Beam if that's the case. Also, they can do a custom stroker with CP Pistons, pins, rings and locks, and Crower Rods and crank...

    Crower Rods

Completely forgot about the exchange rate. Nice. 905 + shipping is great. Hmm...maybe as a new real estate agent I can sell a couple of houses before this ends... Also, I found out from Crower that if we place a 5000 order, which in this case would be 5 sets, we can get the shelf rods for...

    Crower Rods

Zuffen, Unfortunately, since my project doesn't start until fall, I won't be able to get in on the group purchase unless I hit the local lottery. These prices are available year round. Also, if it is indeed $167 a rod, it will be 1336 a set, which is not that much more expensive than yours...

I just got a reply back and it's $1375 for the 2UZ. They also do Custom Rods for 190/Rod, which equals 1520 a set.

    Really? That sucks. *sigh*

    Endyn Forged Roller Wave Pistons

New info: With pistons up to 90mm, heat expansion clearance is 0.0035! From what I hear, it's 0.004 - 0.006 for most other forged pistons. Freaking awesome! Also, I'm talking to him about a group purchase. He said that prices would come down "significantly" with the purchase of 10+...

    Endyn Forged Roller Wave Pistons

I sent an email to Endyn (www.theoldone.com) about their Roller Wave pistons for a 1UZ application. Here's the reply: So, we would be looking at $1000 for custom pistons. It's more than the Ross pistons were, from what I remember, but if we can get one of these manufacturers to produce a...

    Supra Vs SC400

^^ I'm exactly the opposite. I think MKIV Supra, 1UZ, 5.5-6.0L, Twin turbo, Carbon Fiber S900 Widebody, true dual exhaust...mmmm... To each his own I guess. I say go with which one you like. It's your car

    5.8 Liter 500 bhp Lexus (N/A)?

Anaema, I look forward to what you have to say. I definitely wouldn't mind a 5.0L block...6.0L would be cooler. I would love to get some heads made for this engine. Something much more aggressive. I was talking to a friend of mine that send a block of wood out to a metal company, got a...

    5.8 Liter 500 bhp Lexus (N/A)?

That's freaking awesome... Except the price! Sheesh. Oh well, I may have to get one anyway. 3.85" Stroke + 99mm bore = 6022 CCs = 6.0L...mmmm...

    5.8 Liter 500 bhp Lexus (N/A)?

Here's an email I sent to Darton: "I am interested in the Darton MID Sleeves for the LS1/LS6 (items 600-110 and 600-120). It says that you can bore them up to 4.165”. I was wondering if you could tell me what the max bore on these sleeves would be for a forced induction application. I’m...

    5.8 Liter 500 bhp Lexus (N/A)?

What ever happened to this? I'm starting my 1UZ projects this fall. I wanted to do 1 4.0L version and one that was bored/sleeved/stroked out. I was hoping that this would've been done by now, so that I could get planning done before I start. Update please. Chris.

    VVT-i Revealed....

I believe that the dude with the Twin Turbo GS400, who also posted on Supraforums, said that he's letting the stock ECU control the VVTi and the Haltech control everything else. I'm not 100% sure, and I can't confirm because Supraforums is down. I'll post something again once their back up...

    5.8 Liter 500 bhp Lexus (N/A)?

I actually meant a tuned N/A 100hp/L motor, not a twin turbo. I was using that as an example because we could do it minus the weight of the turbos and piping and get a better weight distribution. Or, just go all out and do a 6.0L, twin turbo motor with 800rwhp and a monster torque...

    5.8 Liter 500 bhp Lexus (N/A)?

I think it's more to see how much you can do with this wonderful engine. There's not necessarily a need to go any bigger at all. But this is an unexplored world, and some people are trying to get as much out of the engine as they can. Think about it this way: if you can get 6.0L out of the...

    5.8 Liter 500 bhp Lexus (N/A)?

Now that I'm thinking correctly, that could be attributed by the fact that, when made from the same materials, the long rod simply has more mass to it. Shorter Rod = less mass to move = more freed up horsepower. I doubt the power difference was great, but possibly still noticeable. Not only...
