1uz running better with AFM unplugged

Hi all. Excuse my ignorance, but can you remove the kmock sensors, but still leave them connected? So they dont see any vibration?

Is the UZ series still the way to go

Geez Rod. That's the kind of question I'd be asking you! I wonder if you know what you want already but need some re-assurance? Maybe you wanted to start a discussion, not just for yourself but to "liven" the forum up a bit? Anyway, you asked so here goes... I am over the current high-tech...

92 sc400 swap wiring with factory ecu

Just out of curiosity, GertRoewer, what did you discover? Did you find the two (presumably) wires for the O2 sensors? On my 1989 1UZ the wires came out of the engine loom at the back in the middle. The left hand wire shared a loom with the oil pressure sensor wire, but the right hand one was a...

Diagnosing a possibly dead 1989 Crown 1UZ ECU

I reviewed this thread and realised it got a bit sidetracked onto oil filters etc. However for completeness I will post the eventual solution. Due to the amount of "points of failure" in a remote setup, fittings, oil lines, filter mounts and so on, I simply bit the bullet and bought one of...

    USZ131 Crown interior diagnostic pinouts?

Hi All. Like it says, does anyone have the pinout for the interior diagnostic connector in a 1989 crown? I specifically need to know the function of the blue with a yellow stripe wire. It seems to be the +12Volt battery wire but the voltages I see on it indicate its not, or it is modified in...

    1UZ-FE ECU Information wanted

Yes. Like the Crown ECT diagram that's been up for years showing the "VSS" input as Vehicle Speed Sensor. It is actually the Vehicle Steering Sensor input from the steering column steering angle sensor.

    ECU part numbers

1989 Crown. UZS131 - ATPUK Frame number 004505 (I think) ECU is 89530 - 30540 (079100 - 1522 12V) On the ECU label it says 26P and 16P (only) In fact it is 26 pin, 16 pin, 22 pin and a 10 pin "extra" plug mounted on a bracket (yes, 10 pin, not 8 pin as in the Lextreme diagram). Also, the...

    1UZ-FE ECU Information wanted

Hey Gingersmurf. Like the man Gloverman said, he is the MAN. If you pay him to get/tell/do what you want it WILL be right. No forum BS, but the right stuff. So it will end up being cheaper in the long run and you get your car on the road quicker. Worth the $$.

    1999 vvti combination meter speedo

Hi George. (Sorry to hijack your post Dannyboy). Re the device mentioned above, do you sell it? Or if not, maybe supply details so I can build one? Thanks, Jeff

    oil pressure gauge wiring

Thanks Mat. Great picture. Yes, the oil filter does hang down! Anyway, moot point, I have already ordered one of Gloverman's adapters. Hoping it will arrive soon. Jeff

    Wanted Mechanical Fan Bracket

Hi Rod. Yes, I know - 2 years late... Did you get this sorted? What 1UZ engine was the bracket you are after used on?

    oil pressure gauge wiring

Thanks Mat. Its a bit hard to see from the picture, but I guess the filter sits about horizontally given the apparent angle of the mounting plate? Any chance of some pictures (if you find it of course), maybe from front on?. Thanks Mat. Jeff

    Please help identify this Y-pipe.

A bit late I know (I've been asleep), but that's not a Crown engine pipe. Crown header pipes are almost vertical, and the RHS engine pipe is straight from the header. The LHS pipe drops down then turns 90 degrees then again 90 degrees, then runs along the RHS pipe, joining further along.

Diagnosing a possibly dead 1989 Crown 1UZ ECU

Yeah, saw that video and a few others. I really cant see how anyone going this far into an engine swap could not know which way the hoses go. But I suppose its also all about ongoing maintenance etc. If the car is sold later down the track and old mate who buys it has no idea, the hoses could...

Diagnosing a possibly dead 1989 Crown 1UZ ECU

Thanks mate. I was going to view the video's then post my comments on here. Time is the problem! There has been an inordinate increase in interesting 'stuff' on Youtube lately! And it is all of interest to me. Focusing on the 1UZ, I am ATM sorting out oil leaks from the remote oil filter...

Hi Rod. That oil filter adapter in the picture above, on the left - what's it from? That may be just what I am looking for! Jeff

Diagnosing a possibly dead 1989 Crown 1UZ ECU

Ok, for anyone following. I rigged up a temporary fuel tank (5 liter Jerry can) and a pump (VL Turbo pump I had lying around). Double checked availability of fire extinguisher etc and gave it a whirl. Took a few cranks (stuck injectors?) then it fired. Lots of noise! (Open exhaust). And smoke...
